When I think back to that famous victory I feel very privileged to have been part of it, I was there with 2 of my daughters. The buzz of driving down flags flying, Passing each other on the M1, Filling the tube, Trafalgar square, Big ben, Buckingham palace, Everywhere we went that day there was fellow Tigers fans. The atmosphere in the ground was electric, Campbell to Windass, Windass smashes it in and becomes a hero forever.

I drove home with the biggest smile on my face since I lost my virginity at the age of 14 ( :emoticon-0105-wink: )

I wonder what it will feel like next time ?

Well in the spirit of being a City fan, I took you off ignore yesterday, and hope you post more stuff like this and less like....the other we wont talk about.

Anyhoo, yes, I think it could be topped.

It would involve Wembley again, and us playing TWS, then beating them of course. Makes me feel giddy just thinking about that.

Of course it could go totally the other way and be the worst day ever, but how sweet would it be if we denied them their "rightful place"??

Dean for me it was topped that wonderful Saturday evening in North Landon, when we beat the Arsenal!

Having been lucky enough to be at both games, I know which will longer in my memory. Watching Myhill at the far end somehow repell attack after attack, Geo's wonder goal and then Cousin rising above to glance the winner. Got to give it to Arsenal fans who were tremendously gracious in defeat!

I think every promotion we achieved, and every great result we gained in the PL will always be held in high regard by us Hull fans and rightly so as there where some great results in there. But Wembley will never be beaten for me, i can see why others will say other games where better. However i totally feel that Wembley was the greatest day in our history! The relief the joy the celebration everything made it such a special day, i don't think it will ever be beaten, but i hope we try!

Brilliant day, and a landmark in the clubs history, Could another win at wembly be topped ? For me I dont think gaining another promotion via wembly palyoffs could be as good as that great day, thats been done. For me playing and winning in a FA cup final would probably come close.

Could it be topped. Too effing right it could be. For an effing start I could be at Wembley supporting the team I had followed for 35 years instead of been in the effing canary Isles trying to look effing happy while all the time knowing I should of been elsewhere.

Memo to all on here. When you book your hols think

ahead even if we dont look like getting promoted.

As you can tell I am not effing bitter.

the only way it could be better is if we get there again but this time facing off against TWS and thrashing them

Would anyone fancy coming out of Wembley after a defeat?

Last time I would not of cared, that one day at Wembley was all I ever hoped/wished/prayed for.
I don't think that day at Wembley could ever be bettered, actually winning that day made a diffference to me in a way I didn't think it would.

We may get to an F.A. cup final one day and I will hold onto that dream.
Winning the F.A. cup is two trips to Wembley these days, 1st for the semi's(this is just wrong) and the second the final, could well be against opponents who got there by beating teams who didn't care enough to put full strength teams out.

That special day will never be topped in my opinion.

Hi i am new to posting, but read the comments on a regular basis, and have been wondering if city fans rate the current team over the squad that beat brizzle in the play off finale?

I think we have a better squad than then, we hardly used any players that year. We had a regular startin XI and then four or 5 others that came in now and then and tweaked it.

But this year we could field 3 sides of similar strength such is the depth we have at the moment.

Can we? I think that if we had a few injuries (especially in defence or in goal) we would be in serious trouble imo

Beating Weeds in a play-off final would better beating Brizzle, even if it wouldn't be such a historic event.

Winning the FA Cup would also beat it.

City vs TWS on the last day of the season, City need the win to secure automatic promotion and TWS need a win to secure championship survival. That would be an immense game!

I made a decision in 87 to migrate, i dont regret migrating but i wish i had been there at Wembley.Watching it in my loungeroom with a Scottish mate and a Aussie mate who left our place at half time not really understanding but said theyd be right.I was in my own world, tears down my face i didnt care.If only my parents were still alive as they were the ones who introduced me to City.
So when we get back there in the Premier League i will see a game at least and die happy.

I don't think we can beat the fairytale of DW getting the winning goal. Howver, if we do it again this year I'll be walking out and collecting 500 quid in winnings for a tenner bet in December.Dawson free kick to be the winner.....
