As for the PPE.... How could any government predict this virus and how quick and lethal it would be. The whole world is currently looking for PPE and ventilators, UK are not the only ones. Here in the UAE, same problem. I've said before that I am Labour through and through, but I find it difficult to believe that ANY political party in charge right now would have dealt with this any different. Its a tragic situation full stop. I'm positive that if PPE was readily available it would have been bought and distributed. My daughter is a nurse, I am scared witless about her safely and that of her kids...my grandkids, but for sure I will not be getting on the case of the government right now, They need our support. When all this crap is over, lets have a full review of who did what and what should have happened

Flanders, man . . . . that doesn't suit the agenda of those determined to divide us, rather than as you suggest to support each other <doh>

And the same man who was telling us all to self isolate for 14 days if we suspected having the virus was giving press conferences and appearing on Question Time SEVEN days after actually catching the disease. Arrogant is not the word.

For me, it isn't that it's not available ...

... it's that Hancock keeps insisting it is.

He is a Mag (a 92er at that with no connection to the area), and as such, never lets the truth get in the way of a good story.

Reports from S Korea that 91 people who have recovered from the virus have tested positive again so thoughts that immunity would be built up seem to be in doubt.

Unfortunately today, NEAS confirmed, he now has it. He’s in good spirits though and he seems to think, it is at its peak with him and currently just feels like flu. Hoping it stays that way.

I suppose being a skunk you are naturally right leaning and a Bonko fan.

This virus or something similar has been on the cards for years, and no spadework has been done, despite lots of warnings.

If we had enough prep done so we locked down immediately, tested who was positive and traced/contacted others infected, this could have been contained. How many have died now, including health service workers who did not have PPE!

    US death figures overtake Italy
Earlier we reported that the US death toll was expected to soon overtake Italy as the highest in the world - and that has now happened.

There have now been 19,701 deaths reported by the US, according to John Hopkins University. That compares to 19,468 reported by Italy's government.

Regardless of which country has reported a greater number of deaths, it is a tragedy for both.

There’s a worldwide shortage of PPE equipment, not just here.
I've voted Labour all my life until the last election.

I’m not really interested in your political view in this thread. I’m not really interested in politics at all tbh.
What I see now is people using the current climate as an agenda for mudslinging at a time where the country should be pulling together in unprecedented times. I’m looking for positive’s, not negatives.
I have no agenda with Sunderland supporters on here, but chuck an “insult” at me, expect a backhander in return.
