In fairness the £10k thing is slightly fake news. The bin bags as PPE sadly isn’t. Jenrick, like Kinnock, is an idiot. He says he had to do it to deliver his parents food and medication 40 miles away after travelling 150 to get from one massive house to another neither of which are in his constituency where he also rents a £2k a month flat that we pay for.
The 10k thing, as I understand it is from an independent source and not government direct. Either way it's nothing short of scandalous.
To be fair to him, if he was delivering meds and food fair enough, I would do the same for my folks but alas her meds get delivered by the pharmacy and a closer neighbour is getting whatever she needs from the shop.
Yes, they can't possibly know how many people have had the virus with mild or no symptoms. He's just paving the way for the inevitable extension to the lockdown. Still, those antibody tests will re ready any minute.
Latest over here, restrictions to stay in place till 5th May at the earliest. Junior Cert (O levels) is cancelled completely this year and Leaving Cert (A levels) are postponed till late July or August.
Hope all is well with you Fingy, I think we are likely to be on the same sort of timescale as you. Whenever it is eased it will be a slow way back...
For those of us getting a bit tired of Chris Whitty and his message, here’s one from the Ohio Dept of Health.
Good old Professor Jonathan Van Tam, at today’s presser, reiterating that there is no evidence that the general public should be wearing face masks. Hopefully I got my blood pressure up about nothing.
At the moment he said. I'm edging my best by next week or the week after they will be a recommendation to wear them. Do remember we are weeks behind others. Loved the question about all these people coming back on flights and what checks would take place on them. No evidence to support that it makes any difference. Ffs my holiday was cancelled for no reason.
The answew fwom that nuwse about numbwews of nhs staff that have sadly passed away was pathetic. Just say I dont know fow ****s sake!
That’s just social media bollocks mate, they have, if needed Been granted a £10,000 allowance to move their office so as to work from home and this allowance is for IT etc, it’s not an extra for themselves and most haven’t taken it as yet, just the usual bollock that Karen from Romford posted on Facebook or twatter as usual. Absolutely nothing in it.
Must have imagined the interview with the politician for batley this morning telling gmtv about it then. It's been made available by the IPSA mate. If they haven't got a mobile or laptop at home already then they shouldn't have the ****ing job. I'm not on facebook or twitter so dont know of this Karen. “There will be an immediate increase of £10,000 to your office costs budget,” the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) said in a bulletin announcing the changes. “This is to cover any additional costs you may incur to set up working remotely as a result of coronavirus.”
