We had a veg box delivery today. The leek seemed very LARGE. Pear included for scale. No Carry On jokes required. Edit: the leek looks a bit like Beaker. please log in to view this image
It's also nice to include lemon or orange zest in that too. You could also add some chopped chestnuts or pistachios for added texture.
Top half sliced and added to steamed greens and served with lamb.bottom sweated off and make a chicken ham and leek pie and a leek and spud soup and still have half left!
Picking my food shop up in a while but I've just had an email telling my the sausages are out of stock and they don't have a replacement.
American style. Had a couple more sausages under that egg. I'm a convert. Although I think ordinarily I'd still go bacon and egg without sauce. Ketchup is boak.
Ran out at work once and had the Franks American style on beans on toast, was a revelation. Will spare my sausages that, for now. Have a stash of HP for now
Only really use ketchup (other than as an ingredient) with hot dogs ... ... but it does come in handy as a base ingredient in many sauces and marinades. Here's my take on a Rose Marie sauce to use with prawns: Greek or natural yoghurt (can use creme freche) Splash of Worcestershire sauce Slash of balsamic vinegar Ketchup - mainly for the colour but also balances acidity Lime juice - good splash Touch of chilli powder Splash of either Tequila or Vodka - both work Whisk up in a bowl. Mix in prawns. Serve on lettuce/salad or as filling in avocado cavity... shake a little cayenne pepper on top for 'cheffyness' ... job done
