If teams have allowed key players to run down their contract and now lose them effectively 9 games earlier than they expect then that's their own minor problem to deal with

The league doesn't get null and voided every time a player gets a long term injury
Contracts run out in June. You really should be banned from the internet let alone this board. The only good thing to come out of this **** is how utterly abhorrent your club and it’s fans now look.

So what is your ****ing point then you absolute womble? Award it to you and be forever tainted? Or play when players are out of contract behind closed doors?

This players out of contract is so minor an issue as to be pretty much irrelevant on the grand scheme of things.

The big picture is, if they decide to award Liverpool the league because they 'deserve' it, the league ends at that point. Surely.

Why does the league stop for Liverpool and not everyone else?

That's great from a United, Leicester and Chelsea point of view by the way, just not so rosy for a **** load of others.

Can't happen. Also can't see when the league gets finished.

Ergo- it's null and void.

That's as maybe but there's a greater message in that article. Not just about misinformation but about intent and consequence.

That comes with the territory I'm afraid....... Maybe a fine that dissappears will be handed out but its all for show dude......sad I know but that's the current state of affairs in the world

If players are out of contract offer them a pay as you play option.

If they say no, they earn no money.

They were leaving anyway, otherwise they'd have signed another contract. Tough ****.

I don't think anyone is requiring or expecting sanctions mate. It's an open letter to the media outlet and its owner. It's an unprecidented step and if it can shame them into changing their rhetoric on this one single issue - namely the irresponsibility of their coverage and dangerous views on the Covid 19 pandemic then it will have been worth it. And if not, then it will show Fox News and Murdoch up for the utter ****s they are. Either way there's no harm in trying.

But but but they reeeeeeeeeeeally deserve it. After all the peoples club tried to **** over their staff and the city they represent. If any of them actually lived there they’d realise they’ve been humiliated by Everton who have said nothing and gone about supporting the locals. Pathetic pile of **** of a club.

Nope, contracts only run out in June if this was the final year of their contract anyway <ok>

Not quite as simple as that though. As they could and should be able to sign new deals with new clubs from July 1st. Many across the spectrum will have already signed pre contract agreements to that effect.

The number of players on yearly ending contracts increases dramatically the further down the leagues you go, and the solution needs to cover all of the pro leagues and not just the PL.

Yes but not before the end of a season, nowt to do with 9 games as you made out. No club could've predicted what's happened, they expected players to be with them till the end. If you think that's the clubs' problem then likewise you not securing the league title is Liverpool's.

Tough **** all round fella <ok>

Up to the individual players how awkward they want to be about it.

Nike had a contract with Liverpool saying they should start wearing the new shirts from June, but already bypassed all the potential mess by saying they wouldn't hold them to the date but the start of the next season.

It's right at the bottom of the pile as far as insurmountable problems are though.

They remain in flux for a short while, no big deal. We're talking premier league footballers.

*talking specifically premier league here. The football league is at liberty to make it's own decision*

How many players does this affect? And how many of them have such a terrible relationship with their club they won't work to sort something out?
