It does - but it's standard for the Tories. I haven't looked through Twitter for this one, but in the past, Tory MPs have had a habit of issuing tweet clones en masse. It's almost as if they can't think for themselves...

The fact that the Chancellor has had to pour more money into the charity sector shows just how much the government has grown to rely on them. Sue Ryder foundation gets only 30% of it's income from the government despite almost being part of the NHS, while we see the huge rise in food banks that are dependent on donations from individuals or supermarkets. In the past charities were there to provide the extras, not basic services. If people had enough to buy food then the banks would not be required. It is probably cheaper to put some money in now rather than lift many people out poverty. It has been a huge con trick carried out over the years to get to this state. The charities were told that they would receive funding to carry out this work, and once they agreed the funding was reduced year on year.
Coincidentally, I am meeting virtually with one of my supervisees tomorrow morning who is head of all welfare and therapeutic services at a Sue Ryder Hospice ... I wll be able to get further info. Lookng pretty bleak, without a case injection the local media are saying it has only months of reserves

I posted a piece the other day saying how in my opinion things could get very ugly indeed if world trade sank to the levels of the Great Depression. The WTO has come out with some comments that seem to agree. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...ld-on-track-for-new-great-depression-says-who With no one wanting to talk trade in the current crisis and certainly the EU are otherwise engaged, I hope that as Johnson sits up in his sick bed he has given more thought to saying this is not the right time to end the transition period rather than eying up the nurses who are looking after him.

In Banbury we had a hospice that cost the best part of £5M each year, with only 25% coming from the government. Each year government funding has fallen, yet it provides additional hospital beds as well as expert care. It is now in a desperate state with a shortfall of £435,000 lost from government funding last year. Any money that goes back in will be welcome, but it is actually restoring funding that has been already taken away.
While he is in church why not ask God why he started the virus and what he is going to do about it now.
Last week I had to go to the next town as our local Post Office is temporarily closed. It is run by a lovely Pakistani family who I think are fairly devout muslims who are really friendly, I hope they and the staff are ok. On my way back from the PO I saw a lady fall flat on her face, I pulled over as two ladies were picking her up, she had a nasty bump on her head and had done something to her leg. The local chemist was close but it was closed so having the car I offered to take her to the Drs round the corner. It was closed and seemed empty but a nurse came to the door and asked me what was up, keeping the required social distancing. I explained and she went off to talk to a doctor. She came back and said that she should go to the local minor injury A&E in Stirling and it was left up to me to take her there. The lady was a patient there and at no time did anyone speak to her in the surgery, nor did they offer to take her to Stirling or arrange a lift/ambulance. They certainly knew who she was On arrival at Stirling I escorted the lady to the MI unit but was then told that this door was closed for virus segregation and I had to go round to the other door which I could see right across the building, so I loaded the lady back into the car and round to the other side. BTW the building was deserted and doubles as a big drs surgery. Nurse on duty took details and went off to get another to triage her. They decided she needed to got to main A&E in Larbert and asked if I could take her! I would have done but I could not as I had something on at home (it was 530pm) so they would get a paid taxi to take her. Odd seeing there were a lot of ambulances and medic type vehicles about. I also did not want to go near a hospital! I realise hospitals are creaking under the strain at the moment but the local Dr, local minor injuries dept were under no pressure at all and I felt they could have done more to take the responsibility of this lady off of me. Anyway I hope she was not too badly hurt, her family did not talk to her and she seemed a lonely soul. All in a days self isolation and distancing....
Sorry, got to say it. Juxtapose this with persons (no names, no pack drill) making fortunes from the market plunges.
