Cortese is an unsung hero!!

I had remained quiet over this mostly due to the fact I was at work last night so missed this thread. I still haven't read it all do' apologies if I am 'misinformed' over any of this.

From my point of view there is no facts suggesting that mlt asked for or was denied tickets, clearly they do not get on and the same with benali and mac. I agree with the point that they are of course legends but as said before this doesn't entitle them to freebies for friends and family that is just in my opinion abusing their rights.

Then these twitter outbursts I quite frankly couldn't care less how Matty's son feels about it. Calling cortese scum is completely ridiculous, the man saved the club, without him WE WOULDN'T BE HERE. That is what has really annoyed me about this here that no matter what Cortese has or hasn't done, he is the reason that liebherr invested and probably the reason that his family are still here. Someone made the point that the people he is disagreeing with are legends and that legends cannot be made overnight. I agree that they are legends but how you cannot class Cortese as one is beyond me. Again, just to reiterate without him we would be here we owe everything that happens regarding our football club to him and Markus Liebherr.

We seem to be forgetting that try although he did Mlt's consortium wasted huge amounts of time and quite frankly put us in a false sense if security and then pulled out and could have left the club for dead. Fair play that he tried but in the end his efforts came to nothing and in fact it could have killed us off with their exclusivity peiod.

This in my opinion has gone miles out of proportion I think, Jeff stelling didn't need to say anything and has gone way down in my estimations, he has no idea about the internal workings of our club. Yes they are legends I agree but as Cortese said he no one is bigger than the club. Matty's son can f off as far as I'm concerned, yeah alright he's sticking up for his dad, I just don't feel he needs to be so hateful of a man who has done so much for the club.

Lastly why did these various people feel the need to go public, what do they think they are gonna gain from doing so? Cortese is a chairman who is the first to call himself 'ruthless' and to suggest he hasn't got the clubs best interests at heart is mental. There is NO ONE I would rathe have as chairman at this point, pardew got fired because they didn't get on, fair. We all moaned when he was fired but out of curiosity would anyone go back now, under Adkins one year on we have climbed 44 league places to the top of the championship, have a happy bunch of players who are playing some of the best football I have ever seen from a saints team. The mans even set up a charity for gods sake, clearly sounds like a man who is 'a sociopath who is only interested in himself'

He wants to take us to the premier league and loves the club, what more could we ask for?

I am 100% behind him.

The charity, re-development of the training ground, plans for a stadium extension, spending money on new players, improving the catering. Just a few of the things he has done so far. Not quite sure how anyone can say he only thinks about himself, that would be better used to describe our terrible previous owner.

 

Good post.Thing that made me laugh about matts son is when he said that cortese just wants a yes man,well don't all boss's want a yes man? i'm pretty sure if most people say no to their boss they won't be there no more! also a daft thing to say is he is a sociopath,looking at how everyone is happy at the club and say it's a brilliant spirit and with so many players signing new contracts seems to prove his statement as false.I'm with Cortese 100% but i just wish they could all get along.

At least NC isn't being hypocritical. Both he and Markus paid for their own tickets, so it's not a case of do as I say, not as I do.

I wish they'd all make up. Any form of in-fighting will not help Saints. I'm pretty sure that if MLT or LM wanted to buy season tickets, Cortese would be only too happy to sell them to them.

 

Well not enough of you made it, it was a pleasant afternoons entertainment score 5 - 5 Matt LT scored two in the game (one penalty) and one in the deciding penalty shoot out won by the Old Saints 4 - 2 with Paul Jones making two saves. Paul Merson got Man of the Match, I think because he lasted 90 minutes and scored one in the penalty shoot out!
