Having thunk for a while, I'm still finding it hard to decide - but am wavering towards: Foster Kiko/Janmaat Cathcart Cassetti/Angella Holebas Capoue Chalobah Doucoure Deulofeu Deeney Richarlison Honourable mentions to Gomes, Abdi, Tozser, Hughes, Pereyra, Prodl and Anya. Mostly from very recent seasons with a couple of flashbacks.
I thought the selection was a fair stab at it. No, not our best team but a significant selection. As to mine... thinking cap on...
At least he put Deeney in his which Luther didn't! Hogg and Mariappa would be debatable! Ighalo out wide ? Think you have to give Richarlison or FF a place. Abdi in midfield?
GD and Anya I think - not bad and probably technically better than Troy but not in the same league for goals! I had to go for Tozser over Abdi (I know it is a crime) but god his left foot looked so sweet sometimes and I have Doucs better than Abdi in the position I favoured him in. We've had a lot of players in 10 years, I am sure I have forgotten one or two who might have made the first 11 there. Did it off the top of me bonce I did!!
Del - sorry mate, Pearson (who is the manager BTW) just reminded me that you are on the bench. Ighalo, of course how could I forget him, has just arrived in time to make the start of the game. Bench - Otter, Lloyd, Abdi, Almunia, Del, Janmaaaaat (If he isn't injured) Wooter (HA!) and Mooney!! (Yeah I know last two maybe not last ten years!!) and Gifton (If he has recovered from that terrible injury)
This is great.. I think we are all drawing from about twenty players... I could do the best squad but the best eleven is hard...
