Right, so you've had a good look at our new signings and what they'll add to the team, so I want you to pick the team and bench for our next game against Arsenal.

As an added bonus you can add any one player from our past to supplement your matchday squad. We're also assuming that all players are fit.

As much as Friedel has been excellent, I think Pat Jennings has the abillity to improve our first 11 the most of all our former greats.

    I'd line the team up:

    --------------------Jennings

    Walker------Dawson------King------Benny

    ------------Sandro-------Parker

    ---VDV----------Modric-------------Bale

    --------------------Adebayor

Bench: Friedel, Gallas, Charlie, Huddlestone, Defoe, Lennon, Kranjcar

Including Jennings that's 3 ex-Arsenal players in the squad, between them and their current players, the Gooners won't know who to boo!

  2. Any one player...?

    Hm.

I'd put in Dave Mackay. Solid, dependable, hard as nails, and a good leader.

I think a small case could be made for Greaves.

Would have to be Greaves, although as Big Pat was my boyhood hero there is a case for him.

Yeah, Greaves is definitely a good shout. We currently have so many top midfielders that I think our best 11 has to include 5 of them, leaving Adebayor who is in great form either on the bench or choosing to improve a different area.

Does anyone think that having VDV, Modric and either Gazza or Ginola would work. It certainly would be a site to behold but I suppose it could be a bit of a creative overload!

  6. We could be left wide open. That was my thinking behind putting big Dave Mackay in there.

It's a tough one. King seems to bring out the best in everyone, even Gardner got a bloody England cap after playing alongside him! I'd always go with Dawson, between the two of them and I'd rather we brought Gallas on if we were shutting up shop. Perhaps he'd be better to have on the bench than Charlie but I do like having our Croatians.
