Dear all . Sorry for my OTT rant at just getting the 1 point yesterday , was having a ****e day & should have walked away from the computer but in fact just posted and made myself look like a right TWAT . Sorry all . FYI Romsey Saint I am not a fair weather fan have been a ST holder for a few years now . Enjoy the rest of your weekend all . Regards #1 Jasper .
Everyone looks an idiot sometimes (well, not me obviously). As I said elsewhere, it shows how far we've come that a point away is disappointing. I'm happier this morning..still top and the world hasn't ended.
Buddy we are all disappointed that we dropped points. Just think how you would have felt had we lost the game. We do have an Achilles heel in dealing with the lower placed teams do we not? However fair play for admitting your outrage was uncalled for.
I don't think you were too far from how a lot of us feel about yesterday. But you were closer to the truth when you said we could have won rather than should have. Burnley may be low down in the league but by no means are they a bad side. I went yesterday and Saints struggled for most of the game, mainly because Burnley worked extremely hard to stop us passing the ball around. But you were right in saying that we could have won because we had three or four really good chances at the end. Rickie should have scored and so should have Adam. It is frustrating when guilt edged chances aren't taken but overall a draw was good result.
Realised I called you in an idiot in my post..didn't mean to do that. We were all disappointed but some of us hide it better. Showed your passion, that's all.
Oh, don't make so much of it. One could sense your post was tinged with real disappointment. It's difficult to remain dispassionate about the things you love.
Beddy will know I make myself sound like more of an idiot than most Everyone is entitled to an opinion etc...
A lot of our promotion rivals will go to Turf Moor this season and get nothing - OK it could have been three points, but lest keep our glases half full !
Repsect for your post and sincere apologies for my comment - it was not directed at you personally but in hindsight (also) I can see how you could take this personally. Apologies once again to you.
So we dropped a point yesterday, Beddy? Are you sure your A'level wasn't domestic science rather than mathematics?
Fran my excuse is I did that in a hurry before going out and didn't re read it otherwise I would of altered it......have altered it now. No it was not for domestic science..........Although I do have an NVQ for cooking............However that is a whole different story.............
I can imagine that listening to the game I'd have been a littlet annoyed. However, being at the game, I came away happy with a point. Burnley played well and controlled the game for 60 mins - we just couldn't get going (mainly because of Marvin Bartley). We were all over them for the rest of the game and, despite creating the better chances, I think a draw was a fair result. So nearly nicked it though!
Teams are going to suss us more as time goes by..luckily we've got a nice number of points on the board early doors. Without guessing what will happen in May, I reckon we are in the top 4-6 in this league.
It's been a long time since we've been able to rant about only getting 1 point instead of celebrating it!
The Sunday Mirror says of us: 'It's a hallmark of a Championship winning side to get a point when playing under par'. Great to read someone not connected with Saints talking in those terms.
