As a minimum I would expect the playing staff to take a pay cut to protect the jobs of the "non-football" staff at the club

I think I read on other clubs that some managers are all taking cuts.
But then are not football managers and the likes Mark Ashton classed as non playing staff, so they should be doing so?
However for all we know, Johnston and his team of coaches and Ashton may already be on lower wages.

Out of interest how many on here are furloughed? I’m not and still working from home. (And please don’t see that as bragging)

    Rod, you quoted me directly.
I didn't mention non playing staff, but anyway I think you're splitting hairs.
Interested that you wonder if some are already taking a wage cut.
The Brighton, Stevenage, Southampton and Bournemouth examples are ones that need highlighting.

all countries were lateralily, [later breakouts ] the reagent is a chemical made by just a few manufacturers … and the demand is un precedented … and rome wasn't built in a day.
I feel sorry for those individuals still doing their brains in over not enough ventilators …… again not an item in mass production ..it is now … and the slack is being taken up .. same for PPE a manufacturer isn't going to make 500 million masks and have them stored in a warehouse hoping a hospital might buy them under normal times … they have a reasonable renewable on order stock … like supermarkets do …
note if you didn't know … you buy an item in Tesco .. it goes through the till you get a receipt .. a "receipt" also goes to the auto reorder computer .. when the carton quantity say 24 in a box is reached one is added to the next delivery [ some items are also manually ordered ] supermarket buyers … separate department negotiate with suppliers to get a bargain/good price and push through to Stores "with special deals offers" with fruit /veg often a lot gets wasted as capacity exceeds demand

I thought that was just a rumour and it was quashed by upper management as being incorrect ….

I hope the NHS makes £1m+ from fines issued to the peeps that break the law IN THE NEXT 10 DAYS and the police issue maximum as opposed to minimum limit ….. I would love to go to the south coast, dip my feet in the sea and find the odd fossil amongst the rocks on the dinosaur coast ……… alas .. I shall do my walk my garden and a bit in the garage ….. finish off my Chardonay … start on the liebfrua … start on the rum , whiskey [ very expensive £145 a bottle I had a half, shared ] gin brandy, fire water strol 80 % from Austria and vodka from my stock probably get some beer next time at Tesco ..for the hot summer months ahead …..

If you’re talking about footballers, then yes I believe they should also be taking cuts.
And I believe football grounds should be used as storage areas, but it’s a catch 22 then because it has to be staffed meaning close contact.

Ahh, so there's more to this than chucking in a gallon of Febmix then. <ok>

I'm not furloughed and I'm not bragging either. You could say just lucky and maybe I am, but I'll take that.

Working from home and have been for the last 3 weeks. Taken a pay cut of around 50%. Out of around 350 staff probably only a 100 or so of us that haven't been furloughed. I am the only when left working in my department and reckon I could be furloughed at any time

I’m the same, but with my counterparts around the country being furloughed I can see myself going soon. Only thing in my favour is we’ve got subsidiary companies and I’m technical to my company and one of the others. Probably why I’m one of the ones surviving. It did dawn on me that with everyone else getting 80% (no cap on salary) I’m technically working for 20% taking up their roles, like you are.

I’m lucky , I’m not working at present (Long story), but on full pay. Could have stayed that way until the end, most of my colleagues are working from home , I’m going to start as soon as a laptop can be sourced , possibly a couple of weeks. I realise I’m one of the lucky ones taking no reduction in salary.
