Minimum of 4 investments, maximum of 6. Minimum of £1,000 per investment, maximum of £5,000 ie you could have a portfolio that looks like this: BAE Systems - £1,000 Vodafone - £2,000 BT - £3,000 Tesco - £3,000 Unilever - £1,000 You’re buying them at the closing prices from Friday. I will calculate your share allocation for each investment ie Carnival closed at 614.8p on Friday so a £1,000 investment equates to 162.65 shares. At the close of business (4.30pm) on Friday 17th April I will calculate how much your investments are worth. So if Carnival closes at 672.4p your initial investment of £1,000 would be worth £1,093.69 During the 2 weeks of the game you can trade out of up to 3 of your investments and replace them with up to 3 different ones. So for example you could sell your £3000 - Tesco shares and your £1000 Unilever for whatever they are worth at the close of trading on the day you choose to trade and invest the sale price into either 2 new companies or just one should you wish. Whoever’s investments are worth the most at the close of business on Friday 17th wins. Things to take into account: Think about what a company does and how the virus will have impacted their business Airlines aren’t flying so their share prices have plummeted. Does that mean their share prices will continue to fall or will some piece of good news cause their share prices to rocket? People are stockpiling food so supermarket share prices haven’t been hit as badly. Does that make them a good investment or will their share prices just plod along over the next two weeks and not make you much of a profit? You can find a list of the FTSE100 companies and their closing prices from Friday here - https://www.hl.co.uk/shares/stock-market-summary/ftse-100 If you click on the name of the company it takes you through to a fact sheet on it. Things to consider: Look at the chart to see how the share price has fluctuated in the last few days, weeks and months Click on the Broker Forecasts tab and you’ll be able to see what the “experts” currently think of the company’s prospects Most importantly click on the Company Info tab to read about what the company does Any questions, please ask. PM me your investment picks by Sunday evening and I’ll put them in a spreadsheet to share with everyone on Monday. Good luck.
Can we sell & buy during the duration or is that just going to get too complicated ? PS Majestic turned up at 13:00 with someone elses wine at 13:30 back with correct box

No buying and selling during the two weeks. You have to watch your investments plummet for the duration.
Maybe 3 trades per player during the 2 weeks? So you can sell up to 3 of your investments and replace them with up to 3 others.
It’d be good to have opportunity for one or two mid week trades but might be difficult for Stan to track! It’d be good to have one or two points where we can trade if you’re alright keeping track of it. Maybe after the first week, or mid week in both weeks?
So we virtually invest on the first day, do ****all for twelve days & find out how we've done on the fourteenth? Sounds like a fun interactive game....
that was my way of thinking too . Something on lines of Stan posts first weeks results and we can trade based on current standings but the trade PM's have to be with Stan by a set time on the saturday evening so in effect making it 2 weekly comps.
Given trades are allowed during the game, I won't pick a portfolio, I'll play as broker to do the trades and keep an eye on the portfolios and let anyone know if they have a stock that is tanking. If they don't watch the markets they may not realise! I won't be offering any advice!
