Anyway, back on track ... terribly sad that a nurse in Walsall had died from this horrible disease. I was following her progress in the last week, but after being put into an induced coma, she sadly didn't make it. RIP nurse Areema Nasreen . Only 36 and in seemingly good health. “I just wanted to be able to look after people, particularly those who are elderly and vulnerable. "I cry every morning because I am so happy that I have finally realised my dream of becoming a nurse." RIP Areema please log in to view this image
I don't think I'd be overjoyed at anyone losing their business, but I and my wife did visit Jamie's in Kingston and it was overpriced and pretty poor. We just didn't go back there again. The service was Ok but the produce wasn't, it was all pretty basic fayre. The problem I have is that I'm a good cook, and whenever we go out Mrs Nines always says it's alright but it's not as good as yours. Two-star Michelin Petrus, maybe the exception to the rule. But it cost nearly £400 quid.
I could do you some fine English smoked quorn ham in a rustic tiger bread, with a side of authentic Mexican, lightly salted tortilla chips.....and fingers de chocolat for afters.........a bargain at £20 ( tip not included, 20% service charge for groups of 6 or above)
Today's totals are 82 new cases 950 in total 127 have recovered 10 in hospital 1 in icu 1 death so far 4.8 billion dollars paid out in the last two weeks as a wage subsidy for 800.000 workers
Really? How do you enforce that? Long time since I've been in a public loo for obvious reasons. The most common observation I have is how often, even in hospitals others walk in piss, scratch their arse and walk out without any attempt to clean their hands- many of these will be the ones who are more interested in their mobile phones than keeping 2 metres apart. I could make the same point to you that I might have picked up a fatal bug at home, might have been about to walk under a bus or a falling scaffold pole but what evidence do you actually have that the majority of the deaths attributed to Corona Virus are actually down to other causes. It may even be that you pick up the virus from the mobile phone that someone who has just had diarrhoea, gone to the loo, not washed his hands and then passed to you to show you a funny viral video he has just seen.
Agreed. There are plenty of fools around and just as many if not more who will just carry on as before.
Well I wasn't suggesting that hand-washing could be enforced, it's just something that we should do more often anyway and the publicity campaign will hopefully have had an impact there. It seems to me that most of us are going to get this virus at some point this year anyway, and the lockdown is just designed to avoid us all getting it at once. The number of fatalities will be little different. Millions will have already had it and will be immune, there's no reason for them to remain in isolation, other than the fact that we can't yet identify them. My aunt died last night. It was very much expected - she was late eighties, in a care home and suffering from dementia and other conditions. I don't know yet if she will be a Covid-19 statistic, but it doesn't really matter does it? The worst thing for me and the rest of her family is that we won't be able to go to her funeral.
I see the UK is releasing 4000 prisoners from jail? What do you think? Release all the ****'s and burglars and keep in the ones that didn't pay their car tax? You can see these causing problems at some point. No doubt the WOKE community will want equal rights.
Are they releasing all the *****s and burglars but keeping in the ones that didn’t pay their car tax? Sounds unlikely, mate.
Sometimes Ellers, you sound just like a Daily Mail Headline. Why don’t you wait for the whole story before having a pop at people you don’t like.
So they’re releasing the millions of imprisoned car tax-dodgers? Don’t see much harm in bringing forward the release date for someone who was close to finishing a sentence even if it was for a serious crime. If someone does 14 1/2 years instead of 15 to reduce the chance of an entire prison and its staff catching this then it seems logical enough.
Condolences Strolls. The thing that must be difficult to work out is how many non COVID19 deaths will be caused, or at least contributed to/brought forward, by the total focus of the NHS on the virus. Regardless of the long term health implications of a massive recession. It’s a crap time to get ill with anything.
