I bought one of those Kodi things last year. Fifty notes. Worked for a month for the footy, then (like the Firestick) it stopped. Still get a lot of stuff, but not the illegal streams. I really am a technical novice (my daughter's feller chipped them for me), but if I got an X-Box would that need constant updating?
