Spanish deaths top 800 for the fifth day in a row ...your pretext that the majority of them would have died anyway, is looking rather flimsy mate ... most are dying from respiratory complications caused by Covid-19 ... not from an unusually angry flu fairy ...<ok>

And the railways and buses will be bliss for the people left using them.

They’ll have to be subsided though the tax system though, as less people travelling equals less revenue for the private franchises currently running transport in this country. Less revenue means less investment, so the investment will have to come from somewhere.

First of all its not my pretext, it's your own government used experts. It was for the UK also. Not Spain
Secondly, you are making a completely fallacious argument, and I dont even think you know it.

"most are dying from respiratory complications caused by Covid-19" "not from an unusually angry flu fairy"
Flu was not a factor in "dying anyway", the "dying anyway" was from existing health condition and medical conditions which was extrapolated from the current fatalities at the time.

Secondly, if someone dies from not being able to breathe from the infection, this does not mean they had or had not got other medical conditions that would not have killed them within the next year, it means they died from lung damage from the infection.

So I don't know what to tell you matey <ok>

There you have it though, Brains ... they are not dying within the next year, they are dying now ... and whilst it's just a hunch of mine, I suspect the 13 year old lad yesterday and the 21 year old lass earlier this week, might just have lived a bit longer than that ... as such, you'll appreciate that I'm finding your arguments more than just a tad phaluscious matey <ok>

No, you've got some sort of gripe because of earlier bants from yesterday imo mate, I wasn't being all that serious

As I have already said to HIAG, there are two ways to look at this, from 30.000ft and the numbers, and then the human level, which is the human cost.

You're dealing in human cost to criticise my talking in numbers relating to research that NEEDS to be done, which can be mutually exclusive. Basically you're implying in some weird way as a result that I don't care about the human cost because I dont only talk of the human cost?

and a 13yo dying, I can talk of that as an outlier, and also understand the misery the family must be going through losing their kid, as a father of 3, I can understand that, though I can also see it in terms of the whole picture re fatalities

I've just been speaking to a hospital consultant, and they don't even want to admit people to hospital for fear of them catching this virus, regardless of how urgent that op may be required. I got the impression to get an operation at the mo, would need to be a life v death situation, other than that all operations have been cancelled. No consultant in the world would accept that situation unless they considered this to be a massive risk to their patients, hence HiaG's comments although 'his opinion' are becoming rather tiresome, 'flu' - and I'll find him a rather sad and lonely individual if he is using this situation as bait material, because it really is scraping the barrel of new lows by him. But hey what do I know, I've only been speaking directly to a top health professional!

Transport is a mess, they should concentrate on quality and cut services if there are less people traveling.

I take everything politicians say with a degree of scepticism ... in marked contrast I do listen when health professionals voice their concerns and offer advice.

The problem with Haggy is that he has come up with a conspiracy theory (he has had several over the years) and has then set off looking for a bunch of cranks to support it, rather than giving any due credence to the vast majority of the medical profession who are not looking for notoriety but do want us to sit up, take notice and take all necessary precautions to try and bring this thing under control.

on that matter of people and the flu stuff.

I've smoked for 30 years, and I've had smaller than normal lungs to begin with (mother probably smoked when pregnant, the 70s, you could smoke in the hospital then <laugh>) I'm under 50 though so there's that, so I'd be medium risk for this thing at least. I'm not nearly as concerned about getting the flu, I've had it plenty of times, but this thing, if I got it and I got a bad dose, I'd actually be in serious trouble given the state of my lungs

I'm 100% not in the "this is not as bad as the flu camp"
