COVID19 is being used as an explanation for a lot at the moment

In many cases it is just an excuse (Bright House and Carluccios were going down anyhow), but it has tipped some over the edge, both personally and corporately

The number of recruiters for example that have been laid off is enormous

The government has some difficult decisions to make but we really need to get the economy going again. Ultimately this all has to be paid for.....by us

    Police state on its way.

If the government extends and increases these restrictions I can see civil unrest around the corner. Otherwise law abiding citizens can only take such measures for so long.

This is plain wrong and will rebound on the authorities. I'm prepared to go along with the restrictions within reason (even though I'm not sure I really believe that I can contract the virus, or pass it on, just by being within 6 feet of someone as I pass them in the street) but, as you say, people will only put up with it for so long.

The police have to be consistent (as ever) and this is notoriously difficult. There need to be very clear guidelines issued to all officers by force chief constables and it must be consistent across the UK
But individuals must do their bit too...!!

Food for thought, although food may be very much in the thoughts of the non-playing staff employee. The sickness of modern day football in a nutshell...

Nice of him to take some time out from stamping on his girlfriend's head. He's right, though.

Some huge clubs abroad have agreed pay cuts to stop this happening to the staff who are on a pittance.

Seems like such an easy opportunity for some good PR for the squad to club together and cover the 20% of the wages of staff to keep their pay level.

It's nearly as bad as Charlotte Church talking at the anti-capitalist rally. Ping!
Bloody hell as he ever cared about anyone other than himself! <doh> tw2t. He couldn't care less about the football staff as he passed them flashing his money on his way home to bashing some poor woman. Idiot

Some players will be too busy deciding which new car to buy, which interior designer to have revamp their house, or how much tasteless jewellery to piss away a load of cash on

They probably aren't having to queue up outside Tesco for 30 minutes to buy a pint of milk either

I would've expected every single EPL club to have made an announcement about securing non playing staff wages by now

    Shameful

He may be a weapons-grade knobhead but the message is simple, football at the highest level has lost it's moral compass with Gordon Taylor now saying he will block any attempt to cut player's wages because of this crisis. If the supporters don't see what c*nts they are we really are beyond the pale...

I have been waiting to hear how the EPL players were going to accept a cut - as some other big teams have - but the air is clear with overpaid professionals counting their money in their expensive homes. Meanwhile boardrooms are apparently cutting non-playing staff wages.. nothing short of disgraceful.
There isn’t one EPL footballer who couldn’t afford to take a 3-month reduction; support club staff and maybe donate to charities that will help the less fortunate should they feel inclined. Oh well ... off to clean the Bentley, then down to the cinema room and watch a movie with a nice bottle of wine or champagne it is for them then. Why am I not so surprised?

UK death toll up by 400, they have added a number who didn't die in hospital so unusually high today...

I was anticipating such numbers once the non hospitalised deaths started to count. Think I will stop watching the daily briefings and false slideshow charts from now on. We have the top scientists forming these graphs yet any 10 year old could quickly point out that they are not comparable to any other country. Getting sick of being fed the bullshit now. My sister in law still hasn't had any new, proper PPE yet! Scandelous

Yeah I thought that. :emoticon-0106-cryin Maybe its because numbers are coming in from the weekend after death certificates? Just when we had two drops. Although sad, they did say that numbers of spreading had dropped.

I suppose the numbers dropping depends on how many are tested daily.
