Further football postponements sees desperate Sky Sports secure exclusive rights to Asda CCTV After the Premier League has suspended further football matches until the end of April at the earliest, an increasingly desperate Sky Sports has secured the exclusive rights to the nation’s favourite pastime, watching people fight over toilet rolls in a packed supermarket. With most sporting events now cancelled, many sports channels are being forced to diversify and it looks like Sky Sports may have struck gold by securing the rights to broadcast live footage from Asda’s in-store CCTV network. Sky executive Simon Williams told us, “We’re very excited about this new package of top-flight shopping action. The Sky Sports Extreme Shopping channel be launching on what we’re calling ‘Supermarket Sunday’, so make sure you tune in. “We’ve got Craig Charles in to present the highlights show and some former Supermarket Sweep winners doing the punditry so you can be assured of not only seeing top-class panic-buying, but also analysis from people who really know how to rapidly fill a trolley.” Asda store managers have been fully briefed and are being encouraged to intervene as little as possible in the action, to let the games flow without too much need for stoppages, with extra assurance that a VAR system is in place to deal with serious foul play. Williams went on, “It’s sort of a cross between Athletics, Formula 1, Tetris and MMA, but some of the tactics you will see out there are definitely Mourinho-esque. “We’re predicting this could be bigger than snooker was in the 1980s – mainly because millions of people watched that and it was dull as ****.” https://newsthump.com/2020/03/19/fu...-sports-secure-exclusive-rights-to-asda-cctv/
Fine. Bored. Exercising and eating, as it's the only two things you can do. I've lost 4 pounds so far.
Long time no see mate. Missing football. Enjoying having the house to myself during the days. Going for a run every day because it’s my only chance to get out the house.
Nice one mate. Its weird not having any football to watch but I have a flick through BT Sport and have watched some interesting stuff on boxing, rugby etc. The running thing, what a good time to get fit. I've got a decked out gym in my man cave, I did 10k on the treadmill last night. Hoping to get up to 15k soon. Loving the running!
Wonder how much this will increase whilst we're all on lockdown? So basically, more people die per day in the world due to alcohol than are dying because of the the big V. Does make you wonder doesn't it?
We're fine for the best part. Her Auntie is in the QE with the virus, I'll be surprised if she comes out alive. Keep away from others where possible, but as she is in the front line at work it's difficult with all the ignorant bastards around.
not really because they will still die and the virus numbers will increase to untold levels if ignored . a huge number of the population drink and smoke for years ...
Not really, no (unless you mean it makes you wonder how people could continue to smoke and drink themselves to death with all the information available to them as to the health risks - it's just self-harming and slow suicide). It's a new virus so in terms of spreading is just getting started. Without these extreme containment measures it would kill millions worldwide in a 12month period. And many of those victims wouldn't be dying as a direct result of their own ignorant decisions (panic shoppers and dimwitted deniers aside).
When are they doing this review? I thought the 3 weeks review should have happened by now? Anyone got idea if the lockdown is to be extended etc?
Think its due to be announced tomorrow as the Government have been waiting for finalised figures since kickdown started which is due Thurs. Reckon we'll be in Lockdown until back end of May. Other countries are starting to ease theirs and we are a few weeks behind, but even then it will be gradual
