Come on, Burton down to 9 men - lets throw the kitchen sink at them & try and improve our goal difference for the last 5 minutes.
Only just got back from the game. great result, especially as I thought there would just be a single goal today, or 1-1 at best before the game. Burton had me worried in the first 10 minutes of the game but once Keds got his goal, things started to change. Frank Nouble certainly showed he had some pace, when he was breaking down the left a couple of times in the first half, their number 5 couldn't handle him. Because of Noubles size he's not the sort of player that's going to do that sort of thing the whole game, but either that number 5 was slow or Nouble was like a greyhound out of the stalls I'll be back later
Another good win today, Very happy with 2 wins in a row, what we needed after that run we had, Leave your match reviews below.
Agree Also I had a good laugh before the game...where I sit is a large number of season ticket holders, when some guy I had not seen before took to his seat. Now at the time the Gills players were having their normal pre match warm up - this guy then turned to me and said...'the guy in the YELLOW shorts, is that the new guy from West Ham?' Just stunned in amazement, I just turned and said, 'no that's Gazza our sub keeper'!!!!
Well we need more new fans through the gate but will only get that through results like today! Wish we could win the toss before a game tho
A good win today, thought that Rooney was excellent today, he is still taking the wrong option occasionally, but that was as good a performance from the start as I have seen from him. Jackman was excellent today and must have pushed Kedwell close for MOM, Kedwell was great too, 2 good goals and he epitomises defending from the front. Nouble looks a good prospect and a has taken a lot of pressure off of Keds which is great. Must also mention another great performance from Lawrence. All in all well deserved win, Burton were good in the first half and I thought that 1-1 was about right, but our start to the 2nd half blew them away, the game was won 11 v 11, and we were very professional once they lost players keeping the ball well and just making them chase the ball around. Wouldn't have hurt their manager to admit that the better team won!! Instead of hiding behind the usual refereeing excuses. Must admit that the reporter (BBC Derby?) seemed incredibly biased too.
Interesting that you should raise that point. I was listening to Radio Kent on the way home from the game, in regards to the home fans, they were receiving emails and twitter messages from people who are saying they cannot afford to go to the game. It was mentioned that we took 35,000 to Wembley and that the cost at Priestfield seriously needs to be looked at (or words to that affect).
I know it might not be as simple as it appears, however, to have a ground half empty every game is ridiculous. There must be a way to fill the ground without at the same time upsetting your regular fortnightly paying punters.
