    Just an update from my last post;

    I never went to work on Monday because I felt totally terrible. ( I haven't had a day off sick in four years)

    I knew I had some sort of virus, but had no cough or high temperature.

    My symptoms are ;

    Pins and needles from head to toe
    Constant headache ( which plays havoc with my tinnitus)
    Fatigue
    Tight chest
    Sore throat
    Insomnia , even though I feel knackered ( I went to bed last night and fell asleep at 6.30 am, woke at 11)
    No attention span, can't even watch tv.

    After friends pestered me to contact my doctor ( not my Wife, as she is far too busy saving the world for her employer ( and as she oversees retail and funeral care , which is understandable) , I called them this afternoon at about 2pm.
    I waited 5 minutes through pre-recorded messages before I got to talk to a receptionist who I could be certain was on Facebook as she was listening to my version of events.
    She told me a doctor would contact me eventually.

    Within two minutes, a doctor called me and I recited the same facts I'd told his receptionist and he said I had to come to the surgery immediately. But via the back door so nobody bumped into me. Which I did.

    On arrival ( which I presumed was the staff entrance) I could see there wasn't a patient in the 10 doctor medical centre.

    After a thorough examination, the doctor told me he could see I was very poorly with a virus but could not confirm if it was corona virus or not, but to go home and isolate for at least another seven days and to ring the school to say I wouldn't be in for that duration.

    It's taken me about an hour to type this, but there you go, my update.

    Stay safe everyone.

    I'll be right in no time at all.

    100% agree but let’s not forget all of the retail shop workers who are also dealing with potentially infected customers daily. My Mrs works at Sainsbury’s who have yet to install protective screens at the check outs, I don’t want her going to work until this is done but she insists she has to be there to support her colleagues. Bravery comes in all forms.

    UK has 66m population, Italy 60m, so in short, no.

    I'm going to throw the daily ECDC dataset into Power BI later on so at least I can see some consistency. From this I'll be able to see what differs to various media sources data. Might just be a different reported dataset.

    My wife is in the same position .. working in retail .. no protective equipment .. yet having to deal with full families and groups turning up for none essential shopping. I've asked the question why they are allowed to buy these things and she has been told the only thing they cant sell from her store now is clothing and children's toys ! Absolute madness that the staff are having to put up with this. They are standing outside trying to limit numbers into the store and yet still the clowns attending have no conception of social distancing and are verbally abusing staff inside and out.

    As for the muppet commenting from his keyboard re the Humberside police it isnt anything I dont expect from that pathetic waste of oxygen .. first people he rings if the sh1t hits the fan but big man while sat behind his keyboard .. complete w4nker

    No worries. I had similar experience yesterday at Asda Bilton, a couple in their fifties seemingly rushed to get to the end of the queue before me, they then found they had a gobby **** six feet in front of them, instant karma. Gobby **** was trying to make general chat with them, we were downwind of him and he said to them if he coughed the social distancing would be of no value, and that a sneeze would even worse. He was clearly right but I was still chuffed that they’d squeezed in front of me and were the target of his general moaning.

    The world is full of self centred arseholes. I made a single trip to the chemists to get my wifes repeat prescription the other day. I got to the door which was locked and started to read a notice explaining the situation and opening hours etc. Suddenly this **** shouts at me "queue". I looked around admittedly and there were 5 or 6 people in a scruffy looking queue of sorts. I explained to this dickhead that a would join the queue when I had finished reading the notice. The **** shouts "queue" and waves his finger at me. I proceeded to tell him to get ****ed and joined the queue when I was ready.

    I went to Morrison’s yesterday. We were queuing right round the ****ing car park for 45 minutes. An old lady tried to just let herself in near the front, I told her she shouldn’t even be here, and to go to the back like everyone else.

    I'm pretty sure I've had the virus as in early January I took sick leave for the first time in about 5 years. Felt like death warmed up. Couldn't get out of bed, ached all over. chest infection, headache, sore throat and no appetite. I work inside peoples houses and outside about 50/50 and usually get coughs, colds and have had flu regularly but usually just carry on. This time I was totally wiped out for about 3 days. I meet quite a lot of foreigners in my job and shake hands often so its quite possible that I've had it and recovered.

    Some of the older folks can be quite rude and often try it on.

    same here. I’m sure I had it about 5 weeks ago when I got back from Mallorca, it was like a really really bad hangover for about 5 days. I also had mouth ulcers & couldn’t sleep - no idea if those are connected to the virus

    Apparently Wuhan is easing restrictions and opening up a bit. I cant believe that they are not going to go back to eating rats, bats and cats. There's a video doing the rounds of the meat market and it's pretty harrowing with slaughtered dogs, cats, snakes and bats on bamboo skewers.

    There are plenty of images around of riots in the region. It's perhaps not as rosy as might be being painted.
