Working in a charity shop is not deemed essential I’ve never slept so much in my life. In fact the last time I had such a deep kip was soon after you sat next to me on the train to work.
I went to a B & Q yesterday at about 11am to pick up some plywood panels for work. I suspected they might be sold out of that kind of thing, but in the end I never got into the store. There was a queue of 30 people outside, and staff were letting one or two go in, only as others came out. So that branch at least was trying not to let itself become crowded. I credit them for that, but I could not wait around for hours so I gave up and drove back to work.
@The mighty Elfsborg We are not hearing much from @Clb74 How do you think he is coping with the lockdown ?
Breaking news: Mike Ashley has done a U-turn after a backlash at his attempt to keep Sports Direct open https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-52011915 Well done the Government And well done public opinion here is no room for excuses and profiteering now. Ashley should still be ashamed of himself, but the right decision has been made.
I'm in the process of updating my will, which I haven't touched since 1993. Being 71, asthmatic, and mild COPD from 20+ years of puffing it seems a sensible precaution. The solicitors' firm where it's lodged "aim to reply within 24 hours" to my phone call, so by the looks of it many more have the same idea.
Bristol... there's a nice place to live! https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1...ws-uk-food-delivery-iceland-bristol-southmead
A food bank in Yorkshire was broken into, and all the food stolen. There are also people have made millions by betting against the Stock Market, whatever that means (see Private Eye).
It's short selling of stocks... so you agree to sell somebody 1 million BP shares on 31 March at say £3.50 (I have no idea what the BP share price is) your hope is that on 30 March you can buy 1 million shares at £2.50 then you make £1m without actually having to (in theory) buy any shares... however if the BP Share price is £4.50 on 30 March you need to find £1m to get out of the contract!... the same thing works with pig bellies
This is what I was most worried about. Night time lawlessness, looting and vandalism in urban areas. The army should be called in to protect supermarket delivery depots if necessary. Rioters and criminals who won't disperse should be interned.
Yeah I'm alright mate. I hope that you have been able to get some clearer info regards the self-employed situation. Hopefully more satisfactory, most importantly.
SAdiq Khan has stated that they cannot run any more trains or buses because an increasing number of TFL staff are sick or self-isolating. Hope that clears it up for you.
