i would love to see Sinclair move to a more central position as i don't think he is affective so much in the premiership as he was in the championship, he has a lot to offer and is being wasted out wide at the moment..

Think the commentator on foxsport kinda hit the nail on the head..we come out the second half, a man up and bottled it. I know its chelsea etc etc but you have to put them under some pressure with the extra man.

Rangel played Torres on for the first goal as he wasnt anywhere near the defensive line and an unusually poor challenge by Williams for their third!

Looks like he has kinda made up for it, get in there Williams...but too little too late :(

Bossy never jumped , cos he wasn't alongside, cos if you watch he just stopped running and looked along the line as if he expected an offside. Idiot.

Would have been nice if Anelka had finished that run, he needs a goal with how he's been playing. Glad to see Drog is back and appears to be on form.

Edit: Bosingwa was horrid on that goal, don't know what he was thinking. I'd like a bit more defensive responsibility out of him.

A very limp display from us I thought. Like others have said had we really gone for it second half when they went down to 10 men we might have at least made a game of it. Really poor. Routledge was shocking when he came on. No doubt we'll get the usual Dobbie haters wondering why he didn't turn the game in 15 minutes. Chelsea still look a class act to me despite some of the nonsense spoken about them recently.

"Chelsea are pedestrian against teams with pace and possession, not to mention your weak defensive back line"

"We are going to Stamford Bridge to play a Chelsea team that are not at their best and the pressure is on them to get a result, and there are areas we can attack, and I will stick with my prediction of a 2-1 win to Swansea, if we lose 3-0 as many Jacks have been saying then fine, I'll admit I was wrong, but I don't see a strong Chelsea team anymore"

"..one Jack reckons Torres will get a hat-trick, I reckoned he would not get one goal, thus a heavy debate ensued, which resulted in a fiver on him scoring one goal or not!."

    TAXI FOR DRAGONPHILL!!!!! <nahnah>

Just shows the guff that people spout on here. The lesson? Have some humility on the lead up to these games, guys. We are the new guys on the block and whereas we can beat anyone on our day we have to acknowledge that whilst we've come a long way we've a long way to go to be able to compete at this level, like it or not - particularly away from home.

Well played chelsea, were professional without hitting top gear today, im bitterly dissapointed with our performance, to put it bluntly i thought we were crap !! 2nd half we should have passed them off the park and we didnt , the sending off affected us more than it did them , i dont mind us losing 6-0 as long as the boys put in a shift ad do their best, i thought they were frightened to make a mistake 2nd half and that is unacceptable. you got to have balls to play in the prem league its ok asking for big money but you have to back it up on the field,i felt our lot didnt do that today . 10 man chelsea were better than 11 man swansea.

Maybe the players look at these games as bonus matches, but for a spell chelsea were there to be got at and we didnt have the craft or balls to have a go.

A very difficult set of fixtures is now over with, the real premier league starts next week for us ,lets hope the players are switched on for it. so many selection dilema s , lita ? graham? routledge? none of those boys made a dent in the game which is a big worry for me :)

Leave it out will you Oz, your like a bloody woman, trying to score points, this is a footy forum, where we can give our view, humility indeed, some tarts never change. The fact that we didn't turn up, or have the guts to get stuck into Chelsea, with Torres being sent off, and then having those strange substitutions, why the hell take Leon and Dyer off, two of our best players on the pitch today, thought Sinclair was very quite too, and Monk is way out of his level. But there you go, well done Chelsea easy win, without even braking into a sweat, bit of an overkill though, bringing Drogba on!......................

Hardly an unexpected result, so time to move on to the next 4 games in October which should be more of a level playing field for us - Stoke, Norwich, Wolves & Bolton.

I wonder what our return will be from these?

Brendan always seems reluctant to take Scott Sinclair off, even when he's having a quiet or ineffective game. It must be ex-Chelsea player/manager favouritism..hmm

Now now Phill, calm down. What about "if we lose 3-0 as many Jacks have been saying then fine, I'll admit I was wrong"

    Does 4-1 count? <laugh>

Don't forget to pay up on the Torres bet. <ok>

That'll teach you not to give it large to fans of well established Prem clubs before the game. Just makes you look daft and embarrasses the rest of us, mate.

i think it may be do to with keeping britton and dyer fresh for next week , scott is different in that he has only recently reached full fitness, i dont like to slate players but it was noticable that they lacked a bit of bite, it may be a good thing with the next group of fixtures coming up, it may also prove to be a master stroke if we get the right results against the right teams in the coming weeks .

my big worry is we lack real quality up front , something i think we knew already but hopefully it will be enough to compete against the prem teams that live in the lower half of the league.

I thought chelsea were average but they didnt need to be anything other than that, thats what i found very annoying about the game today.

But they looked threatening every time they came forward. We didn't. Don't think we can agonize too much over these results, though it's disappointing to concede 4 - I didn't think that would happen to be honest. I'm hoping it says more about Chelsea than us.

i must add im not refering to dyer and britton lacking bite, generally we lacked a little bit all over the field. keeper was poor taylor, ash and monk were average. midfield did well so did rangel , scott sinclair was poor and lita was invisible routledge was crap and graham looked like a cart horse .

the boys will surely bring their A game next week though ??

Very candid Norway but true, really disappointed when Rodgers took Britton off for Routledge, not sure if Danny-boy is going to make the step up, Lita is a poacher playing off the shoulder of defenders, he's not really got much of a first touch, can't hold the ball up that well, and certainly not a passing player, that suite's our style of play, but coming back to Routledge, think he was a bad buy, and not one I would have gone for, mediocrity at it's best!..........
