Yep. I don't think everyone is intentionally breaking the rules, they've just had the same ideas of isolating outside. They are to blame for continuing once they saw it was busy though

To be fair, everyone was keeping their distance from everyone else, kids kept to family groups, park was empty.

However learnt an interesting little bit from my mate the binman, collecting last week and already peoples bins are full of bread and other perishables that's they've panicked, bought, no where to store them, in the bin they go.

I live in a coastal village surrounded by hills. I went for a walk in those hills - saw a family of 5 from about 300 yards away, and a couple of friends outside their house on the way back down. I imagine it's quite busy down on the front though, I didn't go down there.
I do feel sorry for people who live in cities where it's impossible to go out of your front door without mingling with people.

I'm near Sherwood Forest and the surrounding Woodlands which is full of walking trails too. Should be alright if I want to go out with the dog but I'll avoid those trails.

Not sure why people are obsessed with this stuff, soap and water is best, or you can get 99% alcohol and a little spray bottle cheap as chips .

Profiteering used to be illegal, now it's considered smart business.
Crisis profiteering has to be one the lowest acts people can sink to.

It's certainly not that high. Lots of good people out there that have community spirit and are doing the right thing, lots of good news stories about if you sieve through the dickhead stories.

    Keep her safe.

Supermarkets seem well stocked with fresh vegetables atm even organic which is our preferred choice, you just have to pick the right time of day to go. A bit of advice, get chatty with the fruit and veg staff and find out when the deliveries come in, they always seem to know.

As someone who struggles on a daily basis with depression and anxiety, I'm trying really hard to find any positives in all of this. I have days I find difficult to get through at the best of times. One small positive step I've taken is instead of looking just at the new cases figures, I'm looking at the recovery figure. Today that number is at 100,658.

I feel for you JB. It can be very hard at the best of times but there is so much negativity being broadcast its unbelievable.

From the hoarding and profiteering to the death rates. Its unfortunately overshadowing some of the absolutely great stories of support and human goodness that has come out of this **** show.

The survival and recovery rates are very good, most people behaviour has been exemplary with some fantastic efforts.

Try to search out the good and concentrate on the positive.

Happy to talk ****e if needs be. Take care

The world really has gone mad! A candidate went for a second interview for a manufacturing scientist role with a synthetic DNA company last week. On Friday, I found out he was unsuccessful for that, but the hiring manager had contacted a colleague as he felt he was just right for a molecular biologist role there. This morning, I spoke to the candidate, who was aware and had already spoken to the other manager at the company.

At 5.20 pm, I got an email to say they wanted to offer my candidate the molecular biologist role on a basic of £31,000 a year. He's literally only just finished his PhD. I was over the ****ing moon, given the current circumstances. I phoned the candidate to give him the great news, and he said "31,000?". I couldn't believe my own ****ing ears. I actually told him I was shocked he even questioned the amount, and he said it was because he had worked in industry prior to his PhD. I ran through the benefits package (which is good) and reiterated the current world climate, but he wants closer to £35 K. I almost hope the company pulls the offer, the greedy **** <grr>

    Thanks for the encouraging words.

The message is a two edged sword. If it isn't delivered with utmost gravity it won't be taken seriously but at the same time it's created for many a panic/end of the world mindset. I tend to stay away from the politics of it and just hope that the right things are being done.

The sports pages on various sites are equally depressing which is why if someone gives a smidgen of positivity in an interview, I'm clinging to it for dear life. Also why I want the season to be played out whenever because it gives, not only hope but a no surrender mentality that is useful and encouraging in dark times. I want to think there's purpose in forward planning.

I know what you mean, people need to understand it's a seriousness of the situation but hammering on and on does no good. It either dilutes the message and people get fed up, or as weve seen people panic.

We seem to be lurching from one position to the next with no clear plan for the future.

In all honesty I've started to steer clear of most things, no social media, TV has been reduced apart from the cartoons.

Mostly Netflix and reading now, obviously the horde take up alot of my time. Just going threw the motions now, trying not to pay to much attention. The basic structure will still be there when it's all over, it's not the end of days, just trying to get through with the least amount of ball ache to be honest.
