The worse bit will be that we have a great social circle of friends, who we cannot see now for at least 12 weeks:( but needs must.
And I am 50 in June so will also see no one or celebrate my milestone:(
But yes I have your number so when I am bored I will annoy you :)

My wife has also received a text, identifying her as vulnerable and to self isolate for 12 weeks.
What worries me is that I will still be going to work (food supply chain so won’t be sent home and benefit from the 80% of your wage deal being offered by the government) and mixing with people who still think that the whole thing is being deliberately overhyped to scare people into compliance.
    Scary times.

    You not from Southampton?
It’s a very busy car park, cheaper than West Quay, and very popular, so to answer your question, yes people do park there.

So how does the government decide on 12 weeks, what data are they using that determines this time period? More people will die and suffer terribly once the economical impact of this takes hold. There has to be a certain amount of rational common sense around what needs to close and what can continue to operate. What are essential services, would you include a plumber, electrician, mechanic, truck drivers, road workers, petrol stations?

I might start reading my book on the 1929 great depression to cheer myself up.
The legacy this virus is going to leave is going to cast a shadow over all of our futures.
And the Tory bullshit has already started to wash away.

Plague was going on throughout the Middle Ages, right up until the 18th century. The Black Death in the 14th century and the Great Plague of 1665 were only the best known examples.

Shakespeare’s son Hamnet died of plague in 1596.
