You didn’t say you hated the machines, you merely described those who owned them as arseholes.

Sounds like some kind of weird inverted snobbery to me.

  2. Agreed.

I've been telling everyone not to panic. This is nothing more than a new strain of flu. Some will shrug it off and some will feel dreadful. A small number of people will die.

It's exactly the same with all these things.

As I keep reminding people, who seem to have the memories of goldfish, 50,100 MORE people died from the cold, in the UK alone, between November 2017 and March 2018. Coronavirus deaths worldwide are currently around 10,000. It's nothing.

The only reason why the media is whipping everyone up into a frenzy over this particular virus is because it's a new strain and it's infecting everyone at once. It would be exactly the same if everyone in the world suddenly became susceptible to the common cold. There would be exactly the same number of deaths, but no one would bat an eyelid.

The cold snap of Winter 2017/18 was far, far more insidious, not only because of the number of extra deaths, but because our Government and society in general could have done so much more to prevent most of those deaths.

I'm feeling steadily worse by the hour, but I'm still nowhere near the state to justify the media and Government frenzy caused by this virus. The hysteria is absolutely and utterly unnecessary.

I was chatting to someone who lives in London. He thinks they might turn the M25 into a virtual barricade to isolate London. Just block the junctions and everyone inside it is practically trapped.

I walked the dog on Rawcliffe Ings here in York before I went to work, like I do every day. I could not ****ing believe it. Thousands out there, including at least two families having picnics, and bazillions of untrained, un-socialised mutts and staffies roaming uncontrolled all over the show.

    Better today, for some reason.

It's only just begun mate the numbers in a month or two will be staggering. The impacts of this are going to be way bigger than the common cold.

Not the worst idea in the world tbh. Dread to think how many undetected cases there are in London.

The problem as I see it is not what's going into London, it's what's coming out of it.

I put you right on that bogus stat on the other thread. 50k people did not ‘die from the cold’ in 17/18.

Also, managing this new virus, for which there is no vaccine or treatment, is essential to stop many thousands of people dying from it unnecessarily i.e. due to a lack of ICU beds because of a huge spike in cases that require hospitalisation.

They’d why he thinks they’re going to lock them in by closing the M25.

I'm not seeing how that would work because you just use the routes that were there long before the M25. If you needed to travel further South/North dependent on what direction you was coming/going from you would just use the North/South circulars. The only reason people use the M25 is for ease, rather than navigating smaller routes. So for example if I was travelling from North to South and the M25 was closed I could use the circular to join up to the Blackwall Tunnel (A102 I think).

  13. I'm sorry, but they did. You really do not help people by denying it.

Go and find the official stats for yourself.

I can understand why you don't want to believe it, because it will force you to face the fact that this Government is ****ing with you and everyone.

There are plenty of headlines from around that time. Please do not force me to embarrass you by digging them out. Go and find them for yourself, and pm me your apology.

The best deterrent is your body's own immune system. Vaccines have the effect of weakening our immune systems.

I don't want that. I would rather take my chances with Mother Nature. It's what Mankind has been doing for millennia, and it's got us this far. I don't want Bill Gates and the World Health Authority (which is an organization backed by the big pharmaceutical companies and other vested interests) ****ing with the human immunity system.

What's the disagreement for the 50k claim?

    https://www.theguardian.com/society...eaths-in-england-and-wales-highest-since-1976

"There were 50,100 excess deaths in England and Wales last winter, when there was a prolonged spell of extreme cold, making it the highest number since 1976, figures have shown. The Office for National Statistics said flu and the ineffectiveness of the flu vaccine were key reasons for the rise of excess winter deaths in 2017-18."

Simple. The figure doesn’t measure people who ‘died from the cold’ it measures the difference between the number of deaths in the 3 months prior and the 3 months post. The causes of death are anything from falling down the stairs to dementia to bad aids ffs.

Using that figure as some kind of yardstick for the effect of COVID-19 is bollocks basically.
