Morning all. Grey and misty at the moment, but the sun is due to come out soon. Last night I had it confirmed that Spring is just about here as Gardeners World returned to the TV after the winter break. As I have no football to think about, real or imaginary, I can get on without looking at the clock to see if it is time to post the team news. As for Playstation games I wouldn't have a clue. I did see that some form of match of the day would be on tonight with some Watford content. Have a good day whatever you might do.
Morning, dave; morning, all. Still board and card game city, here. Contract Whist is going down a storm with the boys. I don’t know if this is a general rule, but I was taught it by my parents that the last person to call cannot call the number which means everyone can get their bonus for completed ‘contract’. Again, don’t know if this is general, but we play a point a trick, 10 points ‘bonus’ if you make your contracted number of tricks. It is a general rule that grown ups have to drink Benedictine, though. ‘Ratrace’ is another massive favourite board game. Boys like it when I turn on full Dennis Price if anyone enters my showroom, a la Price in ‘School for Scroundrels’. Film yesterday afternoon was ‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels’ - again the boys loved it. So did we. Exquisite writing, direction and acting, especially from Michael Caine. Enjoy your day. (Haven’t completed any more fixtures beyond Norwich v Everton, Dave. Pukki scored early doors, but Richarlison equalised in the 90th minute. Cruel.)
Good day all.. We have cancelled a meal and walk with two older friends today... So for mothers day and mmes birthday will be very quiet... The weather is ok.. And the garden beckons... Take more care folks
Morning all. Grey but the sun is forecast to pop out soon. It did eventually show up yesterday, but not until 4.00 pm. The district nurse has just driven by on her way to help someone, a reminder that some are always busy even when I can potter along at a rate that suits me. A cup of coffee, catch up on French and English news, then get another seed bed ready on my own, unless I have to chase off another deer that thought I would enjoy its company. Have a safe day whatever you are doing.
I have had a message from Dan who has asked me to pass on his best wishes to all of our posters on here, and hopes that you are bearing up in these difficult times. He is part of a community group helping out by finding food etc for those unable to get out, and is finding out just how many are struggling to get by. He is really saddened to see how some people have reacted, not thinking about others. Look after yourself and others was his message.
Dunblane has set up a similar community help service which we have signed up to but are awaiting first instructions. I really admire these people who get off their butts so quickly and organise this stuff, it never really occurred to me but very willing to help.
I'm still around and quite happy. I thought I would let you parrot Guardian articles for a while longer.
Ok thanks Scully, still have a cough but apparently that can go on for weeks. My wife has been confined with me for ages, I think she wants to kill me.
