We didn't though. We missed chances, which is annoying, and maybe should have scored one of them and nicked all three points. We didn't win, we got a draw. This is the Championship, you can't win them all. We worked hard second half and earnt a solid point away from home.
Burnley have had a bad start and this early in the season the table can be misleading. If it was near the end of the season, you might expect a team at the top to beat a team in their lowly position, but Burnley are not in their true position as proved perhaps by the game today.
I am the biggest pessemist you will ever have the misfortune to meet & I am amazed by our start . I am however royally pissed off with people accepting 1 point so easily !!!!!!
The team has been magnificent this season...I'm not going to tear my hair out and slate the team because we've lost 5 points out of 24 in our first year in the Championship.
Inspired substitution by NA, always has a Plan B and Plan A definitley wasn't working in the first half, credit to Howe who had done his homework up to a point, his team took a leaf out of our book by not giving our midfield any breathing space, by expanding our midfield with Chappers and Spider we were able to find the answer, the real concern is the finishing, Con not scored in September and Lala ought to be turning his opportunities into goals. Lot of work to be done yet as other teams wise up to our type of play, at which we should be able to change accordingly. I am not happy with one point, except that after we went 1 down unlike teams of old, the heads didn't drop, they just worked their way back, more to come I am thinking but the class sides are on our heels.
Well, I wasn't at the game, so it's a bit difficult for me to get frustrated at the fact we didn't win. Listening to the radio, it didn't sound like we battered them and should have definitely won.
What do you want us to do? go and cry in a corner, yes we all wanted 3 points, like every bleeding game but it aint gonna happen,i was happy with the point because i look at the bigger picture and i'm not naive enough to think we should win every game.
Well written Fran - just wait when we loose one or possibly two on the trot - we'll see the 'fair-weather' fans slating players, NA and NC...
Hey, our match was first up on Sky...not last as usual. Should have cleared their goal..enough defenders there. Spiderman scored from a couple of yards.
What else are we going to do? We have no input on the game, so not accepting the one point doesn't exactly change anything. It's just having perspective...we got a win at Forest where it could've been a draw, and now a draw when it could've been a loss. Perhaps we should have run away with both games, but at this level of competition you're simply not going to dominate each and every time out, and the fact that the team has fought hard and gotten four points rather than one could make all the difference over the course of the season. That should be heartening rather than anger-provoking...the teams that best manage the games where they aren't at their best are the ones who'll still be in it at the end.
I have never felt we are invincible. We play exciting attractive football and win games because our finishing can be clinical, but the opposition usually have chances to score. Playing the way we do will get us a lot of victories, but clean sheets will be rare and, therefore, there is always the chance of the opposition closing us down if they score first.
We should have won 145-0 today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anything else is totally unacceptable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO, I AM NOT MENTALLY UNSTABLE. I'M A BETTER FAN THAN ALL OF YOU BECAUSE I MOAN NOT STOP ON THE INTERNET AND THAT MAKES ME REALLY RIGHT. please log in to view this image
it shows how far we've come that we are annoyed at getting a point away against a team who was in the prem not so long ago after being 1 down
I'm certainly not annoyed at a point. I've always said that i would gladly take a point from each of these two away games this week. If you take 4 points from each of the big sides - and i class burnley as a big side, as they have some very good players - then you're going to finish the season very high up the table. Draw cardiff and beat watford, and there'll be a very good chance that we'd be going into the international sitting top of the table. And we'd have played all the big sides except for west ham, boro, reading and brighton.
