All very well worrying about a forest if one lives in a welfare state and has all the benefits of services like the NHS and transport, water, leccy edu and so on.
When you are left with farming or starving to death, well, you're gonna clear some land and farm because there is literally nothing else you can do.

Not saying this makes it OK, and the pasture is the by far main reason for deforestation, but to tackle that, just like with certain places hunting whales, they need another option to survive, and I don't see the eco NGOs with their combined donated billions doing anything in that regard

It's being cleared for cattle farming and growing feed for cattle. Take cattle out of the equation and the numbers would be nowhere near as high.

Give me any evidence from any credible source and I'll stfu <ok>

PS I'm not a vegan, told you many times but your weird hatred of vegans must have got in the way.

It's not villagers clearing trees, it's large scale farmers who are far from poor. The Amazon is ****ing huge, a few subsistence farmers would barely make a dent.

you think cows get put on pasture? No no no, that's 20th century mate, the land is cleared to grow soya, and once the nutrients are drained from the soil from growing soya they clear a bit more to grow soya, the cow is simply the middle-man, you think everyone switching to soya is going to change the way they farm? The problem is the farming methods used, rather than what article written by a vegan advocate (is it a surprise that many of the famous vegan advocates make their money through veganism?). Personally I'm a big fan of poly and biofarming, which is more in line with how we used to do things, in sync with the environment rather than against it, which gives better results with less ecological impact. Lot's of farms around the south-east are starting to do this.

yes, I've already read your 'everyone will stop eating beef and eat nothing instead' argument.

I guess social distancing for some means staying at home watching the telly and shoving **** down your neck, with occasional trips to Tesco to stock up <whistle>

    You're not making any sense.

Please provide this evidence you have that the Amazon would be gone if everyone went vegan.

I think the onus on you to explain what everyone is going to eat now that you've removed the cows and the soya that we were feeding them.

No, you said that if everyone went vegan the Amazon would still be cut down at the same rate.

You made the claim, what proof is there to support it? Or am I just trying to disprove your 'opinion', which is completely ****ing impossible.

They're all opinions, or do you have a time-machine that can go to every possible future? My opinions are taken from all sides of the argument, which is why I've been pretty ****ing consitent in my argument that it's the methods, rather than the crop, which is at fault. You, on the other hand, seem to swallow every bit of BS that confirms your bias. Your whole argument seems to be that if we stop eating beef it will fix things in the amazon without a single thought as to replacing the food or what damage the replacement it will cause.

Nope, I just look at the numbers and it's fairly obvious that cattle farming is the main cause. By a long way.

Eating meat costs more in Cal to produce than it provides, by cutting out a meat-based diet there would be a ****load more land to produce crops, and we'd stop wasting food on farm animals.

Which websites do you consider 'pro-vegan'? Is the BBC ok or do you want to choose which publications you will accept proof from?
