Pleasure to have you with us. Perhaps we should start a prediction league on when the next games will be played. The latest is that we may have to be segregated for a year....................

With supermarkets starting to restrict people to what quantity they can have of anything....my daughter notice one family of four taking a trolley each and splitting off in different directions....now when do you need four trollies to do a normal weekly shop.....of course they could of been a family with 10 or 12 kids who knows....but I bet they weren't.

Also how low can you get.....breaking into an Hospital store room and thieving all their stock of face masked....I thought thieves arrived with face masks already on....plus their swag sack over their shoulder.......and a striped sweater as well of course....or is that only in the Beano and Dandy.....it's enough to make you laugh at the reverse roll of that situation.

We'll meet again SMH, don't know where don't know when but I know we'll meet again some Saturday.....................take care.

I am going to attempt to do some shopping tomorrow with my Daughter in law. Will set off about 9am but am not holding my breath I will return after the hunt loaded with anything. Especially after reading your previous notdistant and plym. It really makes me sick what some people will stoop to. I would not dream of filling my cupboards just for the sake of it no matter what the situation. I need some basics like bread and potato. Bit of veg maybe just to keep us going. Would get a few tins of things if pushed but that's about it. My chances by the sound of it are pretty slim. So being in a vulnerable category and not supposed to tread the streets more than absolutely necessary where does this leave me and mine. Hungry in the end is probably the answer if I did what asked. What are the Government or Supermarkets doing about any of it. Feck all is the honest answer apart from weakly telling people there is no need for anyone to hoard. There has been no suggestion that food will run out yet it is because people are making up their own rules. If everyone just bought their usual then everyone would be just dandy but I am never shocked at the greed and selfishness of people generally. I have received a whole shed load of offers to assist if needed. I am very grateful for the offers and that people think of us. But, what can they actually do for us in the long run when there isn't anything to do it with. Even if you challenged those with multiple trolleys they would have no shame.

The next few months might be the best dieting plan ever invented....when we aim to buy the essential basic food items to maintain our health....there will be more need to buy food requirements for your whole week.....no cafe, restaurants, pubs, wine bars etc to offset your home meal regimes.....we are moving into strange times.

I did wonder if we should have a COVID-19 web page....but I thought sod it.... I'll just talk about it through what sites we have already.....but I do understand if someone felt like starting one....sensible or I could make it into a 'sticky' site meaning it would stay at the top of the page always.....although I would think it would stay high on the site because of it being used regularly anyway.....personally I feel that we should try and find other things to discuss and even talk about football.....oh didn't this site start as a footie chat site.....hold on a minute....it's coming back....didn't we once support the greens....Plymouth Argyle I think.....us exiles need reminding at times.

Don't need a special thread plym it's everywhere you look now so don't see why our board has to be different. If I have a meal out I'm generally treating someone else as well and if I buy a drink it's around a fiver a glass for a large wine. I'm saving a fortune now as a bottle only costs around a fiver to drink at home and as I can't find any food to buy I'm quids in. Mind you I think I might only be saving it for somebody else to spend eventually. That's of course if anyone survives this. Oh Err!!!!

Cheer up sensible....your safer living in the West Country.

    Bromley....population 331,096.....52 cases.

    Plymouth....population 263,100....7 cases

That's the latest figures available.....no mention of deaths....probably don't need to know personally.

I've heard they are looking into the medicinal properties in pasties linking this with the lack of cases here. I've eaten loads so I should be ok. Went shopping today to try to get a few basics. Shock horror I got everything I needed. Market for spuds.......no problem and bought a sack which will last me and a couple of the relatives a while. Greens, bread, meat as in chickens and lamb in Lidl. Bit of fruit and 3 bottles of plonk for the evenings. Cheese, triffles, could have bought almost anything except eggs which I didn't look for but can't remember seeing. What shortages I ask. To be fair I was shocked both with the fact I got up early and went and actually found the shelves stocked.

Sainsbury have put aside three slots for elderly, disable, vulnerable, social care workers and NHS personnel....on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays between 8am and 9am.

It is great that they are doing that.....but how can they police that as people come in....ok some of those categories will be self evident....will they be checking paperwork for the last two they might not all be in uniforms....social care and NHS....I doubt it.

Although their intentions are commendable....I'm not sure that mixing some of those groups with NHS staff who might be working at the knitty, gritty end of this epidemic is a good idea ?

With so many people working from home and staying indoors as requested by the Government....the internet is being overloaded with users and is becoming painfully slow to use....I've given up trying to play some of the card games....so so slow.

Well funnily enough I managed to get what I wanted in Aldi. Seems they are doing much better than the big boys.

They've all got restrictions on what you can buy now.

    • Tesco is limiting customers to three of any product, and only two of toilet roll and paracetamol
    • Sainsbury's says people can buy up to three of any grocery product and two of more popular items like toilet paper, soap and long-life milk
    • Asda will let people purchase up to three of any food, toiletry or cleaning product
    • Waitrose is allowing people to buy only three of any grocery product and two packets of toilet roll
    • Aldi is limiting customers to only one wetsuit
(Not my joke but good enough to repeat)

When I next go I'm taking no chances. I'm taking my zimmer and dressing in my nurses outfit. I'll try to look elderly but might not get away with that.

Sainsbury's have recognized this problem and NHS staff by showing their card...will be allowed to shop before the shop opens...between 7.30-8.00 each day.

The latest coronavirus figures show overwhelmingly that London and the South East have by far the greatest number of cases.

    Bromley......93 cases in a population of 331,096.

    Plymouth......16 cases in a population of 263,100.

Mrs Plym and myself are house bound accept for a walk around the block each day.....our son and daughter who both live nearby insist that they will do any shopping for us....putting it by our front door and stepping away after ringing the bell and then having a chat for awhile .....this is when you appreciate family most.

I have received so many offers from family first and foremost and then neighbours who have offered to do this or that for us. I appreciate them all I really do and it's nice to know that people think of you. However, and this is not being ungrateful, if they do that for me then they have to go out and mix in shops etc. themselves and are therefore putting themselves at risk that much extra. They never quite get you what you would get yourself and whilst you can exist like that it still isn't the same as going into a shop yourself and picking up a few things yu may not have had on your list as you go.

I went into Town today. The primary reason was to pick up part of a prescription the Doctor managed to cock up. His fault I had to go in the first place. It wasn't there as I had been promised it would be so I will have to go again sometime soon. Two unnecessary trips caused by medical people. Whilst there I sorted out some Banking stuff I needed to sort so that I won't have to go into a Bank again until this is over. I was at no more risk than any of my family or friends would have been had they been able to do this for me. I was careful to stay away from other people and observe the rules. As long as you do all the necessary then it is hard not to go out and do something at some point yourself. Incidentally I did not see one person in uniform anywhere who was stopping anyone in there. There were few people about but we were told the Police would be proactive in this.
