Great result and great play. Seems like the game against QPR has really been the massive kick up the arse that we needed. Since then we've had two really confident displays which should have yielded six points, but I won't grumble about getting four. I'm glad we've finally beaten one of our many bogey teams too. Let's hope for an FA Cup tie against Derby so we can sort that one out too.

I cannot believe Best didn't score in that game.

Anyway, great performance and a deserved win.

Excellent game, all played really ..even those that had quiet-ish games .
MoM has to be Ba / Obertan / Tiote (hard to pick).. honourable mention to Best, even if not on score sheet was there or there abouts. He can get a couple next game to keep his scoring record going.

Its looking good, which is worrying ..summat going to go wrong..just because its the Toon

Anyone else hear the commentator say something along the lines of... 'now Jonas has come off Newcastle of course have an all French midfield'?

Not sure he's done much Tiote research.

I think the lads must've been training with rugby posts lately though, some of our shots will still be in the air now, probably about to hit that falling satellite or bumb into John Carew's penalty.

great perfromance from the lads today. Just need to keep Ba and Best fit and we have a great partnership up front . the only week spot now is left back but hopefully Santon will return from injury next week . great times and no room for negativity at the moment , we just got to enjoy it , doesnt seem right though , all this good stuff coming from the Toon !

Great performance today. Ba took his goals well, but I thought Tiote and Obertan were sensational. That was the real Cheick Tiote, back to his supreme best. Obertan was our biggest threat going forward and is even quicker than I thought.

Could and should have been alot more, but im quite happy really. Got money on Bruce to be 1st prem manager sacked, so dont want Blackburn getting thumped, or it's bye bye Kean, and bye bye money

Any opposition player coming within 2 yds of Ben Arfa, or him challenging for a ball gets my heart in my mouth.. I really do hope that effect will go away soon ..doesnt make it quite so much fun to watch him
..I wonder if he can play wrapped in bubble wrap?

Pleased for Obertan, I defended him earlier in the week when others were calling for him to be dropped for Marveaux. I rate him more than Jonas who is becoming less and less effective offensively speaking.

    Great result today.

Great game today, I'm really happy we put in a solid performance at home and came away with a deserved win :) I get the feeling Ba and Best will make a great strike force and should be kept up front. Another thing today that pleased me no end....no SHOLA! lovely stuff. I think Pardew is finally getting the point.

I didn't see an answer to my earlier question of did anyone get a photo/was getting a photo of the new sign recently put up? What does it look like close up?...is it really that bad?

Worth watching the full game if it gets uploaded? Just got in from work, sounds like another good performance, wonder what our odds are for the title <diva>

Definitely worth watching - lots of chances and some great football. And Ba's first goal is great.

Garth Crooks was AMAZINGLY complimentary about us! So unexpected. Said Colo has been "outstanding" for the last 18 months, said the french legion have settled and been great this season and was complimentary about our solid back three of Colo, Saylor and Krul. He even said if we are in the top 6, 7 or 8 by January, we have a good chance of staying there.

Steve Claridge on the other hand was the complete opposite. Judging us on the QPR game where we had an off day and didn't even acknowledge today's and the Villa's performance. Said we would be lucky to get into the top 10. Said Pardew is getting the best out of" what he has", acting as if we have a relegation quality team and Pardew is working miracles!

I believe a mix of their predictions is about right of where we will finish. I think we can defo finish top 10 if we stay this consistent and may threaten the Euro places.

Hopefully Shearer may be more positive about us on MOTD tonight
