La Liga president saying the hope is the middle of May football will be able to restart and has specifically spoken about cup competitions as well as leagues.

Mid May start means finishing at the start of August most likely.

Lots of questions then to be asked about whether there is any break before starting the next season? As it’ll already be late starting. What gets done about the transfer window? Do we have players moving in the middle of finishing the season? Etc...

This of course assumes by mid-May we’ve managed to get to a point where football is able to resume across Europe as the scheduling will be based on all the domestic leagues working together to schedule games.

The most impartial view has to be either you complete the whole season including EVERY division in English football, FA Cup and both European Cups. Or cancel the lot.

It's the fairest way.

To argue anything else, whichever club you support, is just blatant self-interest and nothing else. It's ridiculous to argue otherwise.

 

Are Spain going to cancel their leagues? Italy? Armenia? Where ever Carrierbag come from? If one completes then how does that effect the Europy leagues? Will Juventus get paid if they don't win their league? It ain't all about the premier league.

I honestly don't know what you mean. I've not mentioned Liverpool. I've said already I'm happy for the domestic leagues (all of them) to finish and the cup competitions (both domestic and European) in which English teams are playing to be completed.

If other leagues choose not to that's up to them. The complication comes if certain countries stop their teams completing the European Cup competitions. If that's the case then it should be a collective decision by UEFA to bin the lot (every league and cup competition) or continue without them. But the principle should be to complete all or none.

Can I just add that apparently only the integrity of the league is important according to planks like Danny Murphy, not the integrity of all the other competitions. Have we had one ex-Livpl **** mentioning other competitions? Yeh they're not being selfish at all

If the league is played then so should the FA Cup but I think that you can separate European competition from domestic competitions tbh.

I don't think there's any realistic chance at all of teams flying around Europe to play matches by June, but that doesn't mean that some nations won't be able to play games behind closed in that period. They're two separate entities.
