Could've actually done enough to win it. This is the first time in three years or something I've thought we've got a genuine chance of promotion. Tight at the back, creating chances. If we can keep this up we should make the play offs I reckon and that will be a massive milestone for us to build on. That is bearing in mind that a fortnight ago I wouldn't have ruled out relegation. Things are starting to click and we need not fear the next three fixtures.
or fools seldom differ...... Good point for you guys today, but do you think it's a tad early to be thinking about the playoffs? You've had a good couple oif games, I agree, and you boys are in a better position to judge your team than me, but if the reverse happened again, would it be e minor set back or completely bugger your season up?
Maestro I don't think any Town fans atm are talking about the play offs! After what we have had to suffer so far this season It has been a very encouraging week for us and I don't see why we cant now push on. Wet Sham and the Gay Boys of Brighton will be tough games but they are winnable.
DM - I don't think we'll finish top two but you never know. What I mean is that it's the first time in years that we have got a good side together who can compete. Progress is all that matters and playing the way we have in the last two bums will be back on seats before long. JWM - great minds indeed! it's good to hear you optimistic
Confidence breeds confidence and from what I heard from the commentary today we were the better football team. We kept the ball for large periods in the first half and we played out from the back. Gone is the hopeless hoof up the field and back is the passing and movement that has always been the Ipswich style of play. Yes two games is far too early but at least we know that we can play some decent football and our midfield is more than a match for anyone else's in this division. We just need Chops to rediscover his scoring form and that will soon come with the decent service he is now getting. Upton Park has never been a happy hunting ground for us but I can't see why we shouldn't go and get something from the game.
Keep posting your rubbish budgies, that's fine by me ! You are 100% down already in my eyes, yet after your games I don't go on your forum and give it out. At worst we'll be playing you next season.
" Confidence breeds confidence and from what I heard from the commentary today we were the better football team. " The game was shown on firstrowsports livestream mate !
Who has been giving it out Westlake? I cant see anyone stirring it up on here, unless you think my post was a wind up. If that is the case then you need to get thicker skin. I was genuinely interested in how some on here saw their season, and I referred to Hampy's post about possible play offs. DM just said come the end of the season he would remind him of it. For the life of me, I fail to see how that is spouting rubbish. maybe Im just being thick
When PJ said a couple of weeks ago that we were a work in progress I was a bit sceptical, but a couple of good results and a really good team performance has given every one a lift. Yes its going to be tough at Upton Park it always is but regardless of the result the signs are encouraging, we are playing some good attractive football right across the park and its getting us rewards in the way of points. We shouldnt talk of play off places and possible promotion but its all to play for and who is honestly interested in the thoughts of a couple of thicko turnips? I dont give a toss about any other club but ITFC and I really cant understand why they do. So run along mutants your sisters calling.
I am a genuine football fan, who, despite supporting your hated rivals, does like to see teams from the region to do well. If you cant accept that there are well meaning genuine football fans out there who are genuinely interested in how other teams do, then IMO it's a rather sad state of affairs. As an aside, do you normally go around insulting people you don't know, especially if they haven't done anything wrong?
perhaps got it wrong, we all have our moments when hanging so my apologies I've bitten a lot of people's heads off today regarding our season, I have no clue. Too many false dawns before. Promising these last 2 games, we'll know more in 5 games time. What I'm encouraged about is Jewell actually stuck with the team from Coventry, continuity helps
Damned decent of you Westlake. We all have our moments as you said. Despite, supporting your rivals, I do like to see you boys do well, just so long as it isn't as well as us obviously. Don't forget, we have had our fair share of false dawns in the recent past as well. Thankfully we seem to be getting it togther now though. All the best for the rest of the season, and I hope we play each other again in the not too distant future, preferrably with you coming up to join us.
Yeah we'll see how it pans out. I have a lot more faith in Jewell than I ever had in Magilton or Keane
Nice to see ypu have more faith in your present manager. As a matter of interest, how long did it take to see through Magilton and keane, and what was it that started the alarm bells ringing? I know at first, I thought the rodent was the bee's knees for us....jeez. How wrong was I?
God, I'm pleased you said that! I thought the rodent was a wonderful appointment, I really thought he would bring us great success, and I've been reluctant to let anyone know in case they thought me silly! Go on, you Ipswich trolls, fill your boots on that!
I was at the Riverside and it's the best game of football I've seen Ipswich play since Joe Royle was in charge. It doesn't matter if we win to me at the moment I want to see us playing like that win, lose or draw. This is not a false dawn. We have genuinely looked formidable in the last two games.
