Pubs, shops and restaurants told to shut from tonight.

Govt offering interest free grant for wages of staff locked down anywhere in the UK for an initial 3 months, but will be extended if necessary.

    EDITED. <ok>

Sunak coming across like an actual Prime Minister compared to the one we have.

Though where the **** is all this money coming from? We were broke a few weeks ago...

Reading an article earlier that says the initial travel restrictions have hit the illegal drug trade very hard.

It is rare to be reinfected, but no cases of them then passing it on, I believe.

That's where my missus works. Her tales from her colleagues in these wards are harrowing. Pretty much all hospitals will be in this position in a few weeks. We don't have the ventilators to cope. If you know any elderly people or people with underlying health conditions not taking this thing seriously, please drill it into them how they need to isolate now.

Just for those who haven’t seen it, all cafes, pubs, clubs, restaurants, gyms, theatres etc must shut tonight, but shops remain open.

Earlier this week going to the pub for a pint was maybe not the best thing to do, but was ok. Now it isn’t and going for that last pint tonight is in my mind madness.
What will happen if people cannot control their urges for socialise or to only buy what you need, harder restrictions will be put into place. We will be locked down.

Maybe I'm not looking in the right places but I've seen none of the doom-mongering I would have expected at a time like this. You know, end of the world by a week next tuesday, being punished for being a bunch of heathens, all that stuff.

    Anybody else seen much?

Please keep the general political comments of here and stick with only the topic of the thread, I appreciate there’s some crossover, but we don’t want it straying too much. Ta.

Interesting that some experts are suggesting that some form of social distancing may be required for upto 12 months ! Scary stuff
