Don’t think declaring the league null and void because it can’t be finished is quite the same as cancelling a government for no reason <laugh>

Cancelling it because it can be finished at a later date, but deciding not to for self-interest, is though.

Government can keep running though, there isn’t a need to cancel government and start again a later date. There is a reason to cancel the league...

There’s no comparison between the two!

Here is an article from 2018 in the New Yorker about it.
"the first significant wave of Chinese immigrants arrived in the industrial zone around Prato, a city fifteen miles northwest of Florence, in the nineteen-nineties. Nearly all of them came from Wenzhou"

I mentioned Wenzhou in my post, and they also came from Wuhan.

    https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/...workers-who-assemble-designer-bags-in-tuscany

    2014

Made in Italy, by Chinese workers
    https://ww.fashionnetwork.com/news/made-in-italy-by-chinese-workers,377237.html

    So the situation is this.
    November it appeared
December Chinese doctor whistleblowers raised alarm
December Doctors silenced, research stopped, evidence destroyed by Wuhan officials
December China refused WHO and CDC assistance

All while this was happening, people were flying direct to Northern Italy from Wuhan.

China's handling of this is largely responsible for the intensity of the outbreak in Italy and around the world.
Had they acted 3 weeks earlier, it would have been much more possible to stem an outbreak and we'd have avoided most of the economic calamity

Having lots of industry to convert if needed in a situation like this, has much to do with the economic model that created all of the consumer business that can be converted.

Not a perfect model, but this is at least one fortunate benefit.

    Yes, and we got lucky.

Imagine the mortality rate was 60-70%
We'd already be past the point of being able to handle it

It's also stolen a lot of the 'wealth' produced by citizens that could be invested in better healthcare/living conditions to benefit a tiny handful of the population.

You said 100,000. The article you posted says 50,000. It also says "Most of Prato's Chinese come from Wenzhou", which you did mention in your post, to be fair. Wenzhou is 700km from Wuhan.

Brilliant Sisu, you haven't changed at all!

    Ah, the political lens.

I merely pointed out a fortunate benefit of the current economic model at a time when it is needed.

Having universal free healthcare and having wealthy people are not mutually exclusive. Have another tin of commie-lite mate and chill

"stolen wealth". Who are you Stalin? :bandit:

You're playing games when I'm just talking about it.
    Not interested m8, especially now

The two articles are 2 and 4 years old and show the large presence in Northern Italy of Chinese workers working in the leather and textiles industry. You single in on Wuhan (cos if you can pic at one thing then my whole post is wrong and lies) :D

If you don't believe people were travelling from Wuhan to work in Northern Italy, I guess you can easily find out yourself instead of playing games. <ok>

Cite away, I'll read anything <ok>

There's a lot of middle ground between Stalin and the current setup we have.

I'm not going to bother dragging this on. I've seen your behaviour on the Climate Change thread, I'm not going to encourage it.

I believe they were travelling between the two territories, just as they were between London and Wuhan. I'm calling your 100,000 people statement bollocks as you backed it up with an article that says 50,000 and I'm calling your statement that there were masses of people travelling from Wuhan to Northern Italy bollocks as you backed it up with an article that said most of the Chinese in Northern Italy come from a city that is 700km from Wuhan.

As usual you've presented yourself as the authority on a subject and then not been able to support a statement that you've presented as fact.

You posted "source?" and nothing about 100k. You avoid the whole point in order to be the you you are

The whole point of the post is, there was direct travel from wuhan and northern italy when China was pretending there was no problem and direct flights continued. This allowed the virus to spread undetected at first.

50k years ago, double that today, hardly seems like that's a big leap, and it's not an exact figure is it.

But this is what you are like, so blocked
