Town councillors, Masters in the area lodge, I mix with them all. You appeared to admit earlier that the measures taken on social gatherings were not correct. My friends like you hoped that this current government would be better, but after a few chats I now know that it has turned out to be a huge disappointment. If it can only be seen to be hiding behind a couple of advisors, who put it into simple terms were asked to provide a model on what was available, then it shows a total lack of leadership.

What a silly statement. No government outside of Asia, apart from India maybe, would try to compete on such labour intensive products. The UK will compete in the future on high value specialist items, finance, AI intelligence etc. Thankfully somebody like you is not making decisions for the NHS.

The US has a significant shortage of PPE equipment. Hopefully the Chinese government will not interfere with the normal supply chains for political or bargaining leverage. It would sour trading relationships for a decade. Many countries will question the security and reliance on supply chains. Russia used its gas supply to assert political pressure, the Chinese would be wise not to try it on.

The headline says it all!! An awful situation really - can't blame Sky for making the threat, given the amount of cash they stand to lose, but everyone else is in the same boat and have to deal with it. If games behind closed doors go ahead I wonder if they'll lose viewers anyway - after watching a spectatorless Aussie match on TV this morning, it does lose a lot of its appeal.

These people will be the first to wail and moan if they get ill or lose someone to this because they haven't followed the guidelines sets.
Tim Martin is correct in that he is entitled to his opinion. The responsibility of the suitability of whether his, and all pubs, remain open lies solely with the government's experts. The Weatherspoon chain will remain just as popular when this horror show is over, so will Easyjet and others on a naughty list.
