    warning don't click on some of the adverts which are interspersed throughout the text.. some of them are telling a story almost word for word to get the adverts viewed and invariably when you get to about story line of 35 out of 37 virus killer kicks in .. and warns of danger and you either have to risk it !!!!!! [ don't] or not get the punchline of the story.

    i hate this sort of journalism .it undermines the psychology of the players fearing they are at risk and performances suffer

    As Bristol Live revealed yesterday, the Robins are on the lookout for new full-backs this summer, alongside a defensive midfielder.

    On the right flank, City have a decision to make over the future of Pedro Pereira, with the option to turn the Portguese defender’s loan from Benfica into a permanent basis in the summer.

    Yet should they look elsewhere first?

    A message from Lee Johnson
    Tuesday, March 24th 2020

    Lee Johnson addressed the importance of online interactivity through social distancing and hailed the National Health Service for their work as football takes a back seat amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

    The City head coach has also enjoyed seeing how his players have continued to find ways of having fun in their own homes alongside their individual training programmes.

    “Hi guys, first I hope that you and your loved ones are staying safe and well in this difficult time. We want you to know that we are missing you immensely both as a football club and a team. Your support drives us and gives us the buzz to do the thing that we love most which is play football.

    “Of course, the Government advice is that we stay in and it’s important we adhere to that. All the lads are doing the same. They are getting their physical work via their training programmes and as you see on social media they are having a bit of fun as well.

    “It’s important we interact with each other and the player interact with the fans and vice versa. I saw Korey Smith’s unbelievable teabag trick. I’m not sure if it was real but well done Korey! The likes of Niclas Eliasson are on his own with no family around him so it will be good to continue the interaction around him.

    “A huge show of love and respect goes to the NHS and the key health workers in and around Bristol. I know a lot of you are Bristol City fans and of course come to games. The work you are doing at the moment is beyond the call of duty and fantastic. We truly send our thanks and heartfelt accommodations and respect for everything you have been doing and long may that continue.

    “Hopefully this virus dips quickly and we can resume our football. I’m in constant touch with Mark Ashton who is on the EFL board and doing a fantastic job in trying to accelerate things as much as he can, but of course keeping the nation safe as well.”

    As for himself, Johnson is continuing to work hard from home as he prepares for the eventual return of football.

    “It’s easy for me to sit at home and plan, work hard and make sure I can get eyes on all the players and watch clips of the loans and make sure we can work on recruitment as well as reflect on the good, the bad and the ugly that has gone on this season.

    “When we come back and we will come back, we want to make sure we hit the ground running and give ourselves every chance of getting promoted to the Premier League this season.”

    Goalkeeper Dan Bentley had earlier spoken of the importance of self-isolation where appropriate and also thanked the NHS for their vital work.

    Speaking to the nation on Monday evening, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced measures to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. In his address, he said residents can only leave their house to purchase household necessities – as infrequently as possible – and exercise once per day outdoors, either alone or with other members of your household.

    It’s also possible to leave the house for medical purposes, or to provide care for a vulnerable person, while people can travel to work providing it’s unavoidable.

    We can all play our part
    Wednesday, April 1st 2020

    The following statement has been published by the football authorities of as Wednesday, April 1st.

    COVID-19 has presented a hugely challenging and uncertain time for everyone and our thoughts are with all those directly affected by the pandemic. The Government’s message is clear - stay at home, protect the NHS, save lives.

    We are all committed to getting back to playing the game we love - but only when it is safe to do so. Amid the current uncertainty, supporters will understandably have a number of questions relating to the season and the clubs they follow, and there are no quick answers to how and when we will return to what used to be our football normality.

    The Football Supporters’ Association (FSA), the EFL, Premier League and The FA want to reiterate that clubs and their supporters have a vital role to play in supporting the Government’s guidance and ensuring community strength and solidarity. While there is no football, our sport can still play its part.

    Clubs and supporters have responded magnificently with staff, fans and volunteers supporting those most in need in their local towns and cities. Fans can keep up to date with how the Premier League and EFL clubs are providing wide-ranging support for their communities, including the provision of facilities for medical use and accommodation for NHS staff. Clubs are also supporting foodbanks, transporting medicines and food and telephoning the most vulnerable members of society.

    Many supporters’ groups across the country have also shown just how valuable they are. We have seen official supporters’ trusts raising tens of thousands of pounds in their local communities, donating to local foodbanks, delivering care packages and helping NHS staff.     The work of clubs, staff, volunteers and fans is making a difference to those in need. The FSA, EFL, Premier League and The FA encourage all Clubs and supporters’ groups to remain in contact during this difficult time and, where possible, support one another in their community efforts. We also extend our gratitude to those football supporters who are key workers, and those who have offered their support on a volunteer basis.

    We urge fans across the country to follow the ongoing Government advice, to provide us all with the best opportunity to keep fans and communities safe.

    It is also important to note that any official communications will come from the Government and football authorities themselves. Please follow our official channels for this information.

    As the situation is regularly changing, the Premier League, EFL and The FA will continue to consult the FSA and keep supporters updated on the progress made as soon as is practically possible.
