No SH. It seems that you cannot cope with facts. I am sorry that unlike many friends in the UK you are unable to ask if this government is doing the right thing. Town councillors, Masters in the area lodge, I mix with them all. You appeared to admit earlier that the measures taken on social gatherings were not correct. My friends like you hoped that this current government would be better, but after a few chats I now know that it has turned out to be a huge disappointment. If it can only be seen to be hiding behind a couple of advisors, who put it into simple terms were asked to provide a model on what was available, then it shows a total lack of leadership.
The facts are the UK government will provide the facilities and staff required. Your man in the bread queue has moved?
I fully understand your sales pitch, and understand some of the methods used to sell products to the NHS, not that I am accusing you of such things. I thought that under the great revolution the UK was going to be a world leader in the production of goods to sell around the world, a notion that is looking pretty sick tonight.
I think that such an answer suggests a degree of doubt. You do not wish to go back to the social gathering issue. Why would that be? Could it be that your earlier answers suggested that your government got it wrong? If they have got it wrong on this, why are they correct on everything else. Make your mind up time!
What a silly statement. No government outside of Asia, apart from India maybe, would try to compete on such labour intensive products. The UK will compete in the future on high value specialist items, finance, AI intelligence etc. Thankfully somebody like you is not making decisions for the NHS.
Good grief! As I have just turned on the TV and listened to how the government's position is unravelling by the hour, I think I will leave you to consider why you don't agree with them, but still cannot bring yourself to say they are useless. Have a nice evening SH and don't sneeze into your cooking.
It must be so difficult for you being locked in your shack miles from anywhere but you really should have more faith in Boris's medical experts.
You can be abusive to me if you wish, but if you continue in this vein to others there will be another period of isolation for you. Just a friendly reminder to you.
The US has a significant shortage of PPE equipment. Hopefully the Chinese government will not interfere with the normal supply chains for political or bargaining leverage. It would sour trading relationships for a decade. Many countries will question the security and reliance on supply chains. Russia used its gas supply to assert political pressure, the Chinese would be wise not to try it on.
This is a good reason why clubs don't want to cancel. The first few lines give a good summary! https://theathletic.co.uk/1687633/2020/03/19/premier-league-clubs-cost-762m-fail-to-finish-season/
The headline says it all!! An awful situation really - can't blame Sky for making the threat, given the amount of cash they stand to lose, but everyone else is in the same boat and have to deal with it. If games behind closed doors go ahead I wonder if they'll lose viewers anyway - after watching a spectatorless Aussie match on TV this morning, it does lose a lot of its appeal.
Responding to suggestions that he should not be issuing pronouncements on how to deal with coronavirus, Wetherspoons boss Tim Martin said he was entitled to make public statements on the outbreak. please log in to view this image Tim Martin “We’re a democracy aren’t we? I’m obviously not an expert, nor am I an economist, but i’ve got a view and that’s all I can say. People can accept it or not. Even if you’re not an epidemiologist you can look at what other countries do and weigh up what’s happened.” The pub chain has said its 870 UK pubs will stay open but with precautions in place, such as no standing at the bar, frequent surface wipedowns and customers asked to sit far apart from each other where possible. But Martin warned that a long-term shutdown could be terminal for any pub company. “Even if you’ve got the greatest pub company in the world, you depend on the doors being open. If they shut for long enough the entire hospitality industry, never mind Wetherspoons will be in serious trouble.”
There's a list being compiled on Twitter of companies to avoid after the virus scare has died down - such as Britannia Hotels & Easyjet - this mob are on it too.
These people will be the first to wail and moan if they get ill or lose someone to this because they haven't followed the guidelines sets.
Tim Martin is correct in that he is entitled to his opinion. The responsibility of the suitability of whether his, and all pubs, remain open lies solely with the government's experts. The Weatherspoon chain will remain just as popular when this horror show is over, so will Easyjet and others on a naughty list.
