Good! Let’s have a good news story for every piece of misery that Sooper posts. We know that there are lots of ****s around, but there are more good eggs.

Are you sure they aren’t calling you angel cake?

To a degree, I agree Jeff, but given the incessant media hype over the last weeks, and the prospect of the unknown ‘lockdown’ it’s inevitable that people will take care of their potential needs.

You could equally argue this was a failure of supermarkets to have some foresight and the drama production media, as per usual, doing their best/worst.

It isn't the supermarkets fault. I've worked for both a big supermarket and several suppliers, and it takes time to ramp up production
Yes they could possibly have brought in restrictions on shoppers earlier but it is the selfish tw@ts that caused shortages
Some people don't care about others and never will

London was like a ghost town today but huge thanks to the staff at Moorfields Eye Hospital for not cancelling my surgery follow up appointment today. It was a long journey down from Aberdeen to make it but at least my retinal detachment surgery has been successful and I've now been discharged
Too bad there's no football to watch now though :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Apparently someone has done the calculations after seeing a bloke buy 4 Costco massive packs of bog paper, 30 rolls per pack. Assuming this was for a family of four in isolation for 14 days, he calculated that, at 20 sheets of bog paper per crap, they would need do 182 ****s PER DAY to require this amount of paper before they could go to the shops again.

In which case coronavirus would be the least of their problems.

You were right, this is for the politics thread. But while we are here Frank Field doesn’t get what is driving universal basic income - its nothing to do with ending poverty or improving the welfare state.
