To be fair we MUST re-join the Football Club to the ownership of The Valley and Sparrows Lane, if that link is allowed to be severed then the situation at Charlton would be very much worse.
ESI increasingly reminds me of the climatic scene in the Wizard of Oz The one where Toto (Dodger) pulls back the curtain, and the Great & Powerful Nimer turns out to be nothing more than a tinpot fantasist.
In a strange way, Rick's megaphone promise to make CAFC unmanageable has come true. Roland is supposed to be sick to death of funding his greatest mistake, but supposedly feels obliged to (or did until recently). Now it looks like the Club is going to land in his lap again. The Belgian must be wondering if he is the only good and saintly person in the whole world of business. Still, he will insist he knows best.
Everitt will always be an unreconstructed knob, regardless of who the owner is. He just can’t help himself. Worzel Gummidge meets Fred Kite.
At least he's one of our knobs. Foreign owners are no good for football Clubs like Charlton. We've had two now (kind of) in the last few years and they've both turned out to be crap. (I'm not including Richard Murray. He did well back in the day, and if changing your name is good enough for Her Maj, then its good enough for Muzza). If we're going to have dodgy owners I'd rather they were from this country. Southall, Nimer and Duchatelet are all utter wrong 'uns in different ways. But at least I can understand Southall, what motivates him to behave the way he does.
IT appears that ESI's agreement was to complete the purchase in 5 years, not 6 months. Even those who were wary of ESI from early on could not have guessed just what a total liar the bloke is. What are the odds on us getting a bigger liar than Meire in to run the club?
