If it makes you feel any better the Indonesian Government are listening to you. They closed all schools yesterday for at least two weeks and will reassess the situation again then.

Please all lets try and shop local during these times when and wherever we can (or allowed to) as long as it's safe to do so. The big supermarket chains etc will probably all survive this but the smaller local businesses will not. Many are offering delivery services so please use them. We should be shopping local as much as possible anyway, I often don't so I'm as guilty as the next man.

My Daughter is a teacher and she is always plagued by kids and their ailments
looking at the figures, Italy had around the same number of cases as we do now back on the 1st March, 10 days later they had 10,000 cases. We should have locked our **** down about a week ago in my opinion if not sooner. Locked down to the point where we stop all incoming flights etc from worst affected places. If people are sensible and restrict their movements for a couple of weeks then we can minimise the transmission of it within the UK. What happens after that is the big unknown I guess. Can we (as an island) be self sufficient and not have to rely on stuff being imported? In cases like this probably although it will mean adjustments have to be made, not sure how the laydeez will cope without the million bottles of prosecco we import annually mind.
So many unknowns as we're in unchartered waters here. BoJo had to do something otherwise he would have been crucified for not. Whether it's the right approach or has been done too late etc etc we'll just have to wait and see. We're all ****ing adults here though, we don't need to wait for other people to tell us what to do and what not to do, we can make our own choices about what we do, where we go, who we see etc etc....as long as we have the ability to do so of course.

In the North East, the local pubs will 'close'..... but all of them will have a side door entrance for locals to have a lock in.

Agree fully with this. I was straight down to the local bakery this morning as I saw a post from them letting everyone know they are still there. This is really highlighting how fragile the economy is and how reliant we are on the churn of funds keeping us all solvent.
Indeed. What's absolutely astonishing is not ONE financial institution has frozen mortgage, rental or car payments. These are clearly the biggest overheads and you'd think one of the very first things they'd be able to do is pull on their MASSIVE cash reserves to pause payments for a month or two. In the grand scheme of things it would have ZERO impact, whereas having millions defaulting or worse would absolutely crucify them.
Capitalism is a ****ing mess.
Oh and stop bulk buying **** you bunch of savage ****s (not aimed directly at anyone on here...I'm talking generally here). I've seen grown ****ing adults fighting over toilet roll and cleaning products FFS. Been out to 3 different places tonight just for basic stuff and got nothing I went out for. Bleach, dettol, wipes are nowhere to be seen. We don't need any of these things cos we already have them because we ****ing clean regularly. Soap and handwashing shelves empty, again I don't need any of these things as we have them already because we ****ing wash our hands regularly.
I'm gannin out again in the morning back to aldi to try and get some of the basic things we normally get on a regular basis....if I see some **** stockpiling his trolley with bread or meat or bog roll I may well end up using a mig welder as a ****ing weapon.

You do need to be careful in identifying the stockpiler.
My brother in law was telling me of his 4 trolley shopping trip the other day. But it wasn’t all for him. Firstly, he was shopping for himself. Trolley number 1.
Secondly, he was shopping for his 93yo father. Trolley number 2.
Thirdly, he was shopping for my nephew, his oldest son who has his own place, who was self isolating following my nephew’s stag do trip to Munich. Trolley number 3.
Fourthly, he was shopping for my nephew number two, his youngest son who also has his own place who was also self isolating after also having been on the same Munich stag do.
So if you come across a 60 + tall, thinnish, grey haired man in Sainsbury’s you might just want to give him the benefit of the doubt.
As an aside I did mention to him that at least in our day we wouldn’t have had the same problem of catching something in Munich on a stag do as the stag do would have been down the Bigg Market. We may have caught something else down the Bigg Market but at least it wouldn’t have been Covid 19.

Was in Asda yesterday and there was a man with a trolley completely full of Stella. Just boxes of Stella. People where laughing but I thought seriously is that all he wanted. To make sure he had enough alcohol.
