A source close to UEFA has indicated they will introduce a roll back system to determine projected points totals and establish final league placings.

It has been agreed by senior members that the simple methodology is the fairest way in the most certain event league fixtures can not be fulfilled by each Association’s final day of their season.

The formula that will be adopted is as follows;

Matches played minus matches remaining.

Points, goals scored and conceded at this point will then by divided by games each individual team had completed before the enforced shutdown and multiplied by the total amount of games scheduled to be played that season.

What this means for Scotland.

Celtic played 30 minus 8 remaining so 22 games is the base point.

After 22 games, 58 points accrued 61 goals scored 14 conceded.

Applying UEFA projections

58/22 = 2.6363 x 38 = 100.1818 points, goals scored 61/22 = 2.7727 x38 = 105.3636, goals conceded 14/22 = 0.0129 x 38 = 24.1818

Rangers played 29 minus 9 remaining so 20 games is the base point.

After 20 games, 53 points accrued 54 goals scored 11 conceded.

Applying UEFA projections
