All I can say is I went to Brisbane international yesterday to see my daughter off. It was like a morgue...... hardly anyone around. Her plane to Singapore had around 50 passengers on a A380 or it might have been an A350.

Whats got my goat in the last few days is, massive companies like British Airways who have raked in gigantic profits over the years and fattened the pockets of their share holders suddenly find themselves in choppy water, so they jettison 70% of the staff and moan like buggery about the drop off! I'm more concerned about local firms, who support the towns people and offer good service and working conditions, will just disappear without anyone even noticing. I bet Amazon tell us they've had a 3.5% dip in sales over the coming days. Boo ****ing hoo.

Oh snap. They have just said on the news they have had a surge in sales! Timing.

So for the re-edit I shall pop in StarBucks as they pay the same tax code!

Now is for the British version of singing on the balcony and coming together for a fight.

That could well be one of the most important activities in the coming months, to become more self-dependent. I am quite sure prices of fruit and vegetables will increase as there are less people to harvest them. Good luck with whatever you are planning to do in the garden.

Thank god my hens are laying again, thats 2-3 eggs a day I can depend on!

I've offered (suggested) that I be placed elsewhere in the NHS today as my current role is about actually increasing social contact for people.
I'd be better off making the tea somewhere else than sat twiddling my thumbs at present, my boss is not keen however.

Just been into Sainsbury's. Saw a bloke whose trolley was full to the brim with hand sanitizers, baby wipes, soaps, everything that people need!!

I called him a selfish prick and explained about the elderly and parents etc who need these types of things. Told him he should be ****ing ashamed of himself!

He said: “that’s all good and well mate but I work here, can I carry on filling the shelves now?”

I've got 150sqft of deep raised beds plus a greenhouse so I normally grow a fair bit through the year. I'll have more time to do a proper job of preparing everything for the spring this year so I'm hoping to grow more than I usually do. My hens are still laying reliably so getting 10 eggs a week from the 2 of them helps.

Something that has been on my mind, and something I was talking to a work colleague about, was pretty much confirmed today.
Two separate tales, in the media.
One was a daughter who was not allowed to spend any time with her dying mother, owing to the isolation rules.
Another was a man who was given 15 minutes, with his dad, but only by wearing the full hazmat protection suit, which I am guessing will not be readily available to the general public.
The thought of not being there to comfort and hold the hand of a dying loved one, is soul destroying and will potentially leave a lot of people with mental health issues.
Are there any restrictions/special rules regarding the funerals of those dying from the coronavirus?

Lots of people refusing to send their kids into schools today. Would be interesting to hear a statistic for attendance drop-off this week.

It's amazing that the public and buisnesses, even big business, are being more proactive about public safety than the government have been up until now.

I just bumped into my neighbour, who is keeping her daughter home because she has a cough. Which she knows is not serious and not unusual for her child, but obviously she can’t send the little girl to school with a cough, and it means she has to take time off work herself. And she now has to decide, does the whole family self isolate for 14 days?

The whole thing is a bit ****ed really. Not everyone can work from home, who’s going to empty the bins, get food to the shops, keep the lights on, keep the water flowing through the pipes?
