Another quality addition to the Charlton payroll. Not every day you can attract someone linked to a €9m bribe.
Someone on CL has unearthed a newspaper report of a Matthew Southall from the same neck of the woods, born in the same year, who was convicted of taking part in a robbery from Woolworths when he was 19. Could be coincidence.................
He does seem strangely drawn to dodgy characters. Southall is a perfect illustration of how a conman works- if you wants to openly steal from someone you work extra hard at making them trust you, hence all the stuff you remember he told us about how open and transparent he was. Either Nimer is easily fooled or he's just as dodgy as they are.
After all the incompetents we had under Duchatalet, seems like the new boss is the same as the old boss.
Vastly different, Ken. With Douchatelet the problem was incompetence stupidity and stubbornness. This lot seem to be a bunch of crooks, more along the lines of our previous owners. Didn't they also sue each other?
"The Club" had better not keep quiet about it if staff get told they aren't going to be paid. If CAFC starts laying workers off there should be a mass demo called to beseige the Valley, and bugger the Coronavirus. Nimer - get your wallet out, or sling your hook.
He’s got nothing in his wallet @lardiman I’m torn on this one - mom the one hand, low paid staff should be treated fairly, & rely on that money on the other hand, a few at the club are bottom feeders for any owner, and it’s bitten them on the arse (no pun intended)
At least this article confirms that the EFL have not yet approved the takeover, which I assume means the club goes back to Douchatelet if Nimer pulls out. Surely he would compromise his financial demands to get a sale through in the present day climate? Are the Aussies still around?
