That’s **** too, it could be weeks before they start up again. Is the wedding far off?

It’s two weeks away, but my daughter just called to say the venue have just messaged the bride to say that in light of the new government advice, they might have to shut the venue (she’s at another wedding at the same venue this Saturday, which might also be cancelled, though the groom for that one is also currently stuck in Vegas).

Seems so - we’ve basically been told tonight we need to put a plan in place to keep the place open as long as we safely can. We’re more likely to close due to lack of staff than Boris closing us.

Today, was the first day we had a drop in attendance. Tomorrow, it’ll probably drop much more with tonight’s news about the longer isolation and the whole family needing to isolate.

Schools closing could put an extra strain on the NHS, as well as plenty of other businesses, as staff and nurses will need to stay home to look after kids. They need to stay open as long as possible.

Important clarification from Department of Health:

Only the very vulnerable should "shield" themselves, i.e. self-isolate, for 12 weeks. That's over 70s with underlying health problems or the severely ill.

Others over 70, with health issues or pregnant, should reduce contact.

Watch out all you pregnant 70 year old’s.

At our place, we understand trying to keep open as long as possible and for some kids, in general, they’re better off being at school, but I can see them closing sooner rather than later, probably due to the lack of staff.

Let us know (PM) if you get to know anything in what arrangements they make to reschedule or refund. We’ve been told the insurance maybe won’t cover it but could maybe do with some pre-armed info if available.

I remember a story from when I was younger an old senile lady stapled a piece of chicken inside her fadge thinking she’d get preggers.

    No **** that actually happened.
