A number of airlines expected to go into bankruptcy by May if they don’t get government support. Mental.

We need to know which routes are profitable enough for Branson to hoover up first.

They’re closing borders between EU countries as well. Apparently that’s impossible.

Hospital waiting times are at the worst level on record.

Treatment times for cancer are consistently falling way behind the target levels.

Our number of beds per capita is at 2.5 per thousand, Japan has 13, German has 8.

This Govt has pledged to build dozens of ‘new’ hospitals.

But there’s no bed shortage, and the loss of 17,000 beds under Tory austerity is completely fine says Diego. The gaslit working class Tory.

Just boot out more people early. Impose softer targets and we might hit them. Actually adjust the target after we know the result to guarantee we hit it. But Corbyn Venezuela free WiFi.

My mother currently has a life threatening condition that requires an operation. The sooner the operation is done the better her chances of recovery.

She went into hospital three weeks ago, there was no room on the ward and so was in a bed in an alcove of the corridor.
Afters several days of scans and tests she was sent home and told an operation would scheduled asap.
Last week they contacted her and told her all semi-elective (life threatening but not requiring immediate surgery) surgery has been cancelled until further notice.
So now we have agreed as a family to pay £21,000 for the operation to be done privately, I'm sure many won't have this choice.

Within a couple of weeks I expect we will reach the point where all surgery that isn’t required immediately will be cancelled across the country. It’ll start with basic elective surgery and work it’s way up to quite serious operations. Sounds like your local trust are jumping further ahead already.

It’s all part of the strategy to allow maximum capacity for dealing with critical cases of Covid. Shows the NHS has a plan and is enacting it.

(P.s. hope it all goes to plan <ok>)

Top swaggering. Holidays probably even cheaper now. A week in Benidorm in April probably costs next to nothing!

Top swaggering? To say the NHS has a plan and that it’s going to effect a lot of surgery?

    Yeah, ok mate.

I’m not sure getting to the point where life-threatening ops were being delayed by weeks before we had a pandemic on our hands constitutes a plan.

I have no doubt the staff will work to the absolute maximum of their ability as they always do. I do doubt they’re given the best tools to give themselves the best chance of not getting overrun.

So went to the barbers this morning and the bloke starts the conversation with 'Got back from Thailand a couple of weeks ago'.

Oh I'm glad your hands are right next to my face then

This. I doubt they’ll be high fiving each other A-Team style when this plan comes together.
