It was quite interesting noting that a certan Liverpool supporter suggested, the domestic cup competitions could be cancelled to allow for the extra games to finish the season, but that's a bit like nicking the wheel hubs but not the car. I think I'd go one step further than that, cancel all European competitions for the season, so there is no greedy self interest.

Firstly, I was kidding ... but you do still have hereditary heart disease even after a bypass ... I don't feel any different now than I did pre-op to be fair ... but I am in the high risk category which is worrying for the family, despite my reassurances. <cheers>

Cancel the cup comps because we’re not in them anymore, just get the league done, whatever it takes!

No entitlement or self interest there at all.

It was a crass comment and no mistake, it has to be complete everything or complete nothing.

The decision on CL and EL places will have to be made by UEFA imo. Once a European league decides its season is null and void then it’ll set a precedent and the rest will fall into line.

If all players, staff and members of the clubs themselves are free of the virus in a number of weeks (if they’re isolating anyway) then there could be a benefit to finishing the season even if behind closed doors and scrapping TV subscriptions and basically allowing all clubs to televise their games. If there’s going to be a mass isolation of the public having to stay home, having football (and other sports for that matter) as a distraction and free to watch could encourage people to stay in....

This is the perfect compromise solution. Give them the trophy, let them parade it round an empty Anfield, call it their year - but everyone will know something isn’t right.

How does null and void work in terms of tv deals? The clubs/PL would be in breach of contract with Sky/BT for not completing the season and having the agreed number of televised games

I still haven't heard a decent argument to why a club getting one trophy is any more of a priority than other clubs getting another trophy? Where did this myth suddenly appear from and why are the football media putting emphasis on one and not on others?

I have no problem with Liverpool having the chance to win the league title as long as other clubs have an EQUAL chance of winning the FA Cup, Europy and CL. It should be all or nothing.

I'm guessing the reason the focus is on Liverpool is because as far as the law of averages go, it's unlikely Liverpool wouldn't win the trophy. Where every other outcome across the leagues is an unknown. However, to make a decision in Liverpools favour, would open up a whole can of worms, simply because Liverpool as of yet, have still not technically won the title. It's a bit like Barcelona being 3-0 up and letting them go to the final, when our future machine would reveal they would have lost the second leg 4-3 on agg!

If that is true then that begs the question... since when do law of averages and probability come into decision making? So what if one is more likely than others. In that case I'll say it's more likely that someone WILL win the FA Cup in 3 games than Liverpool will win the league in 2. But it's a stupid way of deciding if one club's entitlement to a trophy is any more important than the entitlement of 8 others.

The rules should be objective. Either find a way of completing all competitions or call the whole thing null and void. What's being proposed is that one club get the trophy they want whilst everyone else who is still competing for others, don't. I just don't see how that is justified tbh.

No one has made any decisions as far as I'm aware. I'm with you, just void the whole season.

There are dark forces at play mate, trust me.

Watch mate, either the whole thing will get cancelled but the title will be awarded. Or they'll play enough of the PL to get them over the line whilst CL spots, relegations and the FA Cup will be thrown to the wall.

I reckon them old Italians have played a bit of a blinder spreading this virus. Preventing Liverpool from lifting the title, it's like a message from Rome <laugh> #ThereIsAGod
