Just like David "Under the last Labour government" Cameron

Guess what, Donny? You get to use that line for a year, because after that what you're doing is admitting you've ****ed up everything

...and on the subject of ****ing up

"Drive thru"? What's with the inverted commas?
If that wasn't ominous enough, that's the US government referring to the populace as consumers. WTF?

Swansea university have set up similar here, problem is it's at the other end of the the M4. I would like a similar opportunity here. I've had a 'cold or flu' for over 6 weeks now, unusually long. The timing is wrong for Corona. However, the girl who brought it into work was skiing in France over Christmas (still wrong timing), nevertheless, I would like a test.

    You ok, deedub ??

Somebody told me that Corona-chan has now been detected in DRC.
What with Ebola-chan still doing the rounds there, I dread to think what
will happen if those cousins meet up. :(

I'm no longer in the DRC, professional reasons not health. However, I have been suffering for 6 weeks with cold/flu, it wont go. Nearly goes then back with a vengeance.
I agree that if COVID gets into the communities, minibuses/dirty taxis/motorbikes are the only form of transport and all ripe for spreading the virus, large numbers, in particular the 30% or so with compromised immune systems, HIV etc., may fall. Their one benefit is that they move around less, but all packing into churches every Sunday may be an issue.Hospitals would not cope.

The lack of confirmed cases out of Africa is sadly probably due to a lack of capability to test, rather than the virus not being there.

Sad to read that. Look after yourself.

Places like the DRC as far as general population health goes sadly seems to be
much akin to Europe post 1918, before the "Spanish flu" showed up. :(

Hopefully it will not come to that.
If it does, then China can forget its resource "colonialism" in Africa (a continent
decimated by "Wuhan flu" will be in no mood to be friends anymore) .

You'll think I'm nuts (the wife does!) but I'm a strong believer in rum in your tea as a helper. Good health!

p.s. They are reporting that a 1,000 bed hospital has been built in China IN 10 DAYS! to help patients with the Corona-Virus. But don't things fall down in China?

They certainly don't have the same building regs as us and i doubt H&S regs inhibit some of the more dangerous site practices there either.
That said, our biggest problem with building new hospitals would be staffing them afterwards.

Isn't Boris Johnson a wonderful example of Survival of the Fittest himself? No? Oh.

A few weeks in isolation along with your family. What could go wrong?

This is worrying. If we have to go to work, we deserve a little drinky, don't we..?

Also, I'm not getting all this hoarding ****. Firstly, I'm not eating carbs - so the absence pasta and rice are no loss whatsoever. Secondly, who wants their last meals to be a **** load of pasta or rice?

I'm hoarding dry roasted peanuts, booze and bacon. That's the way to go out...full of that stuff.
