Oh sorry, it wasn't clear. I've got my own massive worries regarding the health and safety of a near one which I don't feel like sharing on here. Look after yourself and don't take any chances.
At the minute there’s plenty of rather dense gobshites who simply just don’t seem to either understand the issue, or are choosing not to give a monkey’s as they think it’s not going to affect them. As this thing spreads, the realities of our already over stretched NHS are laid bare and it’s their elderly relative that’s being turned away as clinicians end up having to make ‘battlefield’ type decisions, then their view might alter.
No need to apologise etc for a misunderstanding. Everyone has their own issues and then there are ****s who have to a ‘I’m alright jack’ attitude and they can go **** themselves
Was listening to Nolan on R5 before: there was an NHS specialist on who said that if you do the necessary number crunching of those who are expected to need intensive care, then we have a ratio of one bed per 600 cases. That's without any staffing and care ratios. yes, they won't all turn up at once, but even if you spread it out at four days per case, that means the peak needs to last for no shorter than 2400 days. @ 6 and a half years. Let's hope this virus is ****ing polite and does as it's told.
It’s OK mate, they’re ready to make medics turn away the over 65’s from hospitals if they have to.... See Peston’s Latest news release.......
Indeed. And oh, that assumes the beds will all be used by coronavirus victims - God help you if you have a stroke, a heart attack, or if you've been involved in an RTA.
It might be nice if you kept this on the cv thread now on the PL board, it's flipping depressing and nothing to do with this thread title. No offence
The more I’ve looked a who’s guiding this, the more I’m shaking my head. The ‘nudge’ group who are steering the policy are basically behavioural scientists, the word science being used with poetic licence. No peer review, no theory, just their chosen model. Basically Cummings cronies that are more used to digital marketing projects.....like vote Leave...... They’re trotting out the idea of herd immunity (which has never been achieved without a vaccine, barring the Black Death, which came back a generation later) whilst going against the vast majority of the rest of the globe in terms of their policy decisions (or the lack of them). All of this is being driven by political choice imo. They’ve looked at the basic facts. 70% of Brits have no savings, people couldn’t survive on SSP, and therefore any extended total lockdown would lead to societal breakdown within weeks. So they’ve decided to let it wash through, and basically allow people who would have otherwise survived - die. As the ‘nudge group’ have concluded that’s the lesser of the 2 evils. Btw on the vaccine, there’s never been a vaccine successfully developed and produced for a COVID virus - including SARRS. The idea there’ll be one in months is therefore probably somewhat errrmmm ambitious.
Give draws to the sides who are less games than everyone else, so everyone has equal games, or keep it suspended until the teams, who are a game or so behind, can play there games and then end the league. Fairest option
More and more opinion (even from ****ers like Oliver Holt) to end it as the positions are now, or simply carry on until the season is finished, even at Christmas, and amend next season. The contract issue is bogus, really, in that we have a transfer window in Jan now - we'll just have to play out the rest of the season under a transfer window from the end of June. Happens now when a player is in the last year of their contract; they can sign for another club, but not play for them until the next season. Not the insurmountable impediment that it's being made out. Then they could probably play the CL final in December like we played the WWC in that month. Strange year, strange arrangements. We could even see the next two seasons played Feb - Oct, and that would align with the 2022 WC. Lot's of possibilities, lot's of change. Let's get through this crisis first, then start making the calls - no need to cancel anything right now.
If the current season is completed after June 30th and post anther transfer window, then it ceases to be the same competition imo. As squads would be vastly different to the ones that started the season, this becomes more prevalent in the lower leagues, who’s sides generally have more players on shorter contracts and more loan players. That solution would be totally unacceptable to most sides in the leagues I’d suggest. Screwing up the schedule for the next 2 seasons to accommodate the completion of the current one, months after if should have completed, just doesn’t make sense.
You think the squads will somehow be more like those that ended last season and that should be used to determine CL etc.? Over 70% of the season was played. Whether the season will be finished or not, those result will be respected.
What happens with CL qualification will fall to UEFA to decide if football can’t continue this season. An incomplete season declared null and void couldn’t have selective ‘finishing’ places gaining benefit, whilst ignoring the relegation / promotion issues imo, as it’d create a potential legal argument.
Terrible news.........Trump tests negative for coronavirus ...........................I suppose he could be lying
My take. Cancel the 2020/21 season. Postpone the current one to Jan 2021 Play out the remaining games in Feb and March Play the Euros and Olymics afterwards New season to start Aug 2021 I am assuming by year end this thing will have blown out
