Just read on another site. A guy keeping a record of his isolation. "09.00 Settled in with plenty of non perishable food. Have downloaded Kindle books. Plenty of wine and beer. 09.05 Fancied a Twix so went to the super market"
Has anyone who has died from Coronavirus hadn't already been receiving treatment for other serious illnesses ?
I don't think so, also no deaths in kids under 9, and very few in anyone under 50.In the world. Does anyone know first hand anyone who has or has had this virus?
That was gonna be my next question Este Are they just saying yeah, this old lady had pneumonia due to the virus, she also had a cold high blood pressure, cholesterol and so on but yeah, it was the coronavirus
https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ check this site out a lot of up to date info not manipulated by politicians.
See my answer below. The Italians have done a report as of March 11th. I’ll post an extract as it’s got some stats that are interesting. It’s true hardly any deaths were under 50 but it’s not true they all had serious conditions. A lot were just old (like me )
The Italian medics report I referred to has some interesting stats on who has actually died and says: “Italy has had 12 462 confirmed cases according to the Istituto Superiore di Sanità as of March 11, and 827 deaths. Only China has recorded more deaths due to this COVID-19 outbreak. The mean age of those who died in Italy was 81 years and more than two-thirds of these patients had diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, or cancer, or were former smokers. It is therefore true that these patients had underlying health conditions, but it is also worth noting that they had acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) pneumonia, needed respiratory support, and would not have died otherwise. Of the patients who died, 42·2% were aged 80–89 years, 32·4% were aged 70–79 years, 8·4% were aged 60–69 years, and 2·8% were aged 50–59 years (those aged >90 years made up 14·1%). The male to female ratio is 80% to 20% with an older median age for women (83·4 years for women vs 79·9 years for men).” I make that only 0.1% of deaths being under 50. as usual it’s old men that die usually
But... The reported cases will be 100,000s out. They’re telling everyone to self isolate if showing symptoms. So these self isolating might or might not have it ‘yet’ if they have and assuming they don’t die in their homes the recovered and survival rate will go through the roof
True. It’s a good site though for seeing every country’s data and it does show the trends. At least the deaths are hard to miss we won’t know how many had it until they do some sampling after the event, people will have antibodies if they’ve had it and they’ll be able to estimate from that how many had it. That’s why although the stats show much higher figures now the % dying who get it is bound to be lower than this.
It’s not relevant anymore which governments approach is right or wrong. All we can now do is follow whatever instructions apply where we live and make the best of it for now. Hopefully each and every one of you come through the coming months unscathed and we’ll have plenty of time in coming years to point the finger of blame
