    Post-606, the last thing that sports-fans-in-search-of-a-community need is for various forums to be pelting each other with cheap insults, ddos attacks or anything else. It would make much more sense for the best forums to seek each other out & cooperate - e.g. on syndicated matchday threads.
    Or whatever.
    Otherwise they're all going to be revolutions in their own back yard.

    I've restricted a lot of functionality until I get to the bottom of this - such as the homepage. This server is well over-powered for the amount of normal traffic we have coming so it's quite annoying to see it fail.

    Just so that you all know what I'm doing about it, I've just acquired the expertise of a Unix server specialist who is looking at the system logs now and is going to try pinpoint the exact nature of the problem if rears it's head again tomorrow.
