What happens to our loan players, all of which would have returned to our parent clubs? We will be without a keeper!!!!
Some bloke was on talksport, he said the Euros are being postponed for 12 months, EUFA wants all nations to stick to the same format in deciding their leagues and that is to finish them even if behind closed doors. The legalities of anything other than finishing the season including scrapping it are far too great. Take ourselves, we could say we’d gambled and invested for this season in our loans, in securing Phillips, in Bielsa, you can’t just wipe it out and start again, players contracts are all one year on, the season will finish behind closed doors after players have self isolated and been given the all clear
That’s the logical way. All depends on how many teams get infected and when. For example arsenal effectively can’t play now for a month even if season wasn’t finished. If Leeds picked up squad infections in four weeks time we wouldn’t be able to play till June 1st
He suggested guidelines of making all players self quarantine for 14 days from now. After that we have another week or two to get those players training again, if any player after 14 days from now gets infected then they didn’t self quarantine so they should be dealt with by the club and treated in the same way as you would an injured player. With no Euros next year he felt we could extend the season to July
Only sensible way for the EFL do do this would be in agreement with all 72 clubs. Not sure how most will vote
Hull City were due to play Charlton who are ravaged by injury, this delay will be a timely boost for Charlton
